We've all heard of the Empty Nest syndrome (when kids grow up and leave home)

But what about the Empty Cot syndrome?

My little Guy has made the transition from a cot to a "big Bed" (which is really a junior bed lol) successfully :smiliedance: and without any major drama (which you would think would make me happy:rolleyes: )

But now that the cot is empty I am feeling very :crying: emotional...................

The Empty Cot Syndrome is making me clucky but dh and I are not ready for number 2 yet, so perhaps I should just pack away the cot, hide it away in the garage and get over these blues??????

Is this normal? Has anyone else felt like this?

ME!
I did. I remember when DD moved out of the nursery I felt really bad. I couldn't bring myself to go into the nursery for quite some time.
1.5 years later, DS is in there and I'm dreading him out growing the cot, cos I don't intend on any more babies. So i think it will be distressing to actually have to disassemble the nursery. :crying:

Just keep thinking that at least you will eventually have another baby in there again in the future. :hugs:

Thanks Lut,

At least one poerson has felt this way:D

I look at him asleep in the bed and see this cold empty cot across the room and think "where has my baby gone???"

I know Im being silly but cant help feel like Im losing my little guy.

But your right we will have another bub (one day) and I should just pack that cot away:(

thnaks Lut:hugs:

I am also concerned about this when Milly gets older. She is supposed to be the last but I get so sad to think there will be no more babies. I'd better enjoy her while I can.:)

E- Yes thats my fear too lol I really only want two bubs so I know the next one will be my last, which is sad:( coz being preggie and experiencing motherhood is amazing!

But I was speaking to dh last night and I said after we finish having our family and they are grown up (older teens) I think I would like to become a foster mum:D He was like "will see:rolleyes: " hehehehe

Nat- Thanks Ill remember your sympathy when you post on here about Eliza moving to a big bed and how sad you feel:p
