Grr!

I had heard of it happening but I didn't think it would happen to me!

Even the lady at centrelink said how slack the medicare office had been.

What a waste of time.

 My advice is to fax it in next time. That way you keep the original and you can get a receipt off the fax that it was received ;)

What a fibber! Its says on the form
Please return this completed form to Medicare Australia, GPO Box 295 Hobart TAS 7001, your nearest medicare office or fax to (03) 62810555

And I just double checked the form online incase there had been a change and it still appears at the bottom  I would be lodging a complaint especially if you have to go back to a Doctor that doesn't bulk bill or there is a gap you have to pay! Do you know who you spoke with at medicare? Did you claim anything else on the same day to verify your visit?

That just makes me so mad :banghead: They have very few CO forms handed in how can such a large percentage go walk about??

Yeah I just read that on my photocopied version. What a load of sh*t. God they make it hard for us don't they!

I might fax one, hand one into medicare and one into centrelink next time... I am sure one of them is bound to be handled by someone who actually can do their job and process it!

I didn't claim anything else that day and I don't remember the persons name.

Such a mess around. And now with a baby on the way any day now it will end up being the last thing on my mind so I hope I can get it done in the next 2 months before K turns two!

I am starting to think the money isn't even worth it. I don't like how we have to do all this just to get this payment and show that we made a informed decision.

Why can't vaxxers do the same???

Maybe you Doc might fill in another one when they have time and fax it for you and you just pick it up when you can? :hugs:

Its more than the money you need the form for schooling etc Can't send 'em to school or childcare without the form.. think your even meant to show it for playgroup

I went in to the Medicare office with mine and insisted they photocopy both twice..

I was absolutely gob smacked that it went through and didn't get lost.
After all the stories about them 'losing it' or misplacing it, I was expecting to have to go in twice.

Its quite sad, really, that I would be surprised by them actually doing their jobs.

Ugh what a pain.

I REALLY hope they sort their mistakes out soon...

Yeah true, but that's all a long way off for us. I just hate having to be rushed! And after all it took just to get that bloody thing signed last time and then the couple of months it took so that I could actually get to a medicare.. And now do it all over again.

Oh well! I'm just cranky now lol.:o
