I say good on you for putting your children first. I would have done the same thing, heck I made the grandmother have a safety check done by DHS before I would allow my boy to go there!! My baby comes first and if I think there is a risk he may get harmed then I'll do all I can to prevent it.

Oh my god your situation sounds so much like my own. I take my hat off to you for havingthe guts to actually tell them they arent allowed to see your kids. I haven't manage to get the courage to tell them yet as i think it wld cause more trouble and distress for me and my kids. My kids are by no means allowed to go with or stay over at my mums and step fathers house and they only see my kids on special occassions which i wish i could stop all together:( everyone thinks im being cold and nasty but i know what it was like to grow up with them and i will not put my children through that, i am here to PROTECT my kids not knowingly put them in harms way. So like i said good for you, you have to do what you feel is right.

You're not cold hearted. They are YOUR children and YOU have the say in where they can and cannot go.

I have made the choice to cut my mother out and in turn she is not able to see my son (and also when bubby comes - not allowed). I have made this choice for the benefit of my family.
