Hi just wondering if anyone out there has had pregnancy blood test come up negative when they found out later they were pregnant? I am on implanon but i have all the symptoms of pregnancy (headaches, leaking breasts low bp, tired, dizzy etc) just like my previous pregnancysand i am so sure but i hav taken two hpt and just had a blood test. I would love some advise or anyne in the same boat. PLEASE!

blood tests can give a false neg - in very limited circumstances. It measures the level of HCG in your blood (same as a HPT measures HCG in your urine, but the BT is a lot more accurate). If you are only JUST pregnant, or implantation is a bit sluggish to get started, then the BT can come back negative ....

BUT if you are on contraceptive like implanon, and only suspecting pregnancy due to symptoms, a false neg BT is unlikely. The reason for this is because the HCG is what causes the symptoms .... so if there is enough in your bloodstream to cause symptoms, there is enough to register on a BT.
