Hi Guys,

As a first time mum to be and reading all of your exciting issues, just wondering if it is normal not to have felt anything yet?

I have had an amazing pregnancy so far, no nausea, not tired and no other problems to mention but just a little worried about the movement, is there a set time that you should feel something by?

i felt movement around 20/21 weeks, so i think it might just be round the corner for you. the first few time i was like- i think that was the baby?? not butterflies for me, kind of a scraping/scratching type feel. then as time goes by it gets more and more intense and pickable- if you get what i mean. like thats a foot, fingers, bum etc. so im guessing you'll feel it real soon!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I think I felt my first movements at around 18-19 weeks. They were only very subtle kind of flickering sensations.
Its apparently very normal to not feel much initially with your first pregnancy, so dont fret! (All the kicks and shoves and elbow jabs will make up for it down the track!! LOL!).
Its good to hear that you have been so well! :)

Cheers guys thanks for the speedy responses. Guess i'm just a little impatient and want everthing all at once.

Go for 20 wk scan on Tues, trying to convince hubby to find out what we are having but, he's a bit old fashioned. Think i'll get my own way usally do :p

I felt movement at 16 1/2 weeks though my friend who was roughly the same gestation didn't feel movement until 22wks. Everyone is different I'm sure you'll feel movement soon :D

I didn't feel any movements with my first bub until around 23-25 weeks. I went from feeling nothing to kicks that sent magazines bouncing off my belly :p I am now 22 weeks preg with #2 and have only been feeling movements for the last week or so.
I wouldn't worry about it, the position bub is laying in can affect when and how you feel movements. I felt bub roll over this morn and felt nothing all day, then after I put my son to bed I felt her roll again and she was moving heaps for about 10 mins...and she just started moving again now :)

Hey how r u goin,
im 19 with a 6 months old girl and i didnt feel any movement to i was about 4 or 41/2 months pregnant. Its such a wicked feelin hey, when you feel it you wil know in your heart what it is , and then your thinking well come on move again! lol and they never do it hey. Some times during my pregnancy i was about 6months and some days she wouldnt move around at all hey and then the next day she would move and kick me in the ribs.If you are worried dont be scared to go up to the hospital and get it checked out better to be safe than sorry hey.
congratulations any way and your so lucky you havent got sick hey morning sickness is the ****s hey.
they say if you get sick at night time your more likly to have a boy,and if you get mornin sickness your more likly to have a girl but i dont know about all that.lol.
r u goin to find out what u r having? if so ask for the heart beat and if its 40= its a girl and if its lower than 40 beats like 39 then its a boy a midwife told me that.
lol good luck with everything

Hi everyone.
It's nice to read eveyone's stories. It makes you feel normal! I'm sittng her typing and my bub is going psycho - really dancing around. This is pretty normal for me. I have to agree with Brianna in that I'm not really looking foward to all the sharp jabs and pokes later on. It's funny how you can't wait for the fat tummy and movements, then about 20 weeks later you wish they'd go away! hehe
Love,
Nan. xx
