My sons allergies are just exhausting! Although he is yet to have his test (sever shortage of allergy specialist is QLD, couldnt get in untill July) the Dr seems to think he is allergic to Wheat, Soy, Dairy and Egg! Doesnt leave much!

He is 14 months old and just loves food. It all started at about easter time when he had some cake and reacted quiet severly. Since he has been reacting to things left right and centre.

His cousine is anaphalactic (sp) to egg and dairy, he has red hair and exsma! So allergys are unfortunatly goin to be apart of his life.

Im just finding it so hard to find foods to give him. Gluten free breads still have either egg or dairy, dairy free products often still have soy or wheat.

I currently have him on rice milk, rice pasta, rice biscutes and gluten free sausages and meat. But it is so hard with my other child, who is 4, and eats her usual food. Poor old Charlie wants to share!!

Someone tell me this gets easier??

Firstly Welcome to Bubhub:wave:

And Yes it gets easier and the best news is your child can grow out of his allergies.

My son was diagnosed at 7mths with an egg allergy among others and we put him on the elimination diet, we tested him again at 15mths and he had outgrown the egg allergy. I strongly believe it is because he was not exposed to egg for such a long time.

Hang in there it does get easier with time, at first it seems scary and overwhelming but once you start learning more about your sons allergies and the alternatives it slowly becomes normal and just apart of everyday life.

Good luck and pm me any time

It must be hard having an older sibling who gets to eat food that you can't have. Have you tried looking for allergy recipe books? I have a couple and the food in them is really yummy. There is also a website created by a person with dairy allergies, I can't remember what it is called, but if you do a Google search you should be able to find heaps of recipes and hints.
