I have been searching Adelaide trying to find sleeveless warm sleeping bags for James (because I sew the sleeve holes up instead of wrapping him) and I found two - one from Target and one from Myers. On my way to the counter with both, I realised a big red tag screaming High Fire Danger at me, and I promptly put them back. It was very disappointing as they were both lovely.

Why do companies bother to make clothes that are highly flammable? :shame:

Does anyone else heed these warnings and only buy low fire danger clothing?

Yes i take notice of the warnings

That said I did buy ds a gorgeous bunny outfit for easter which had a FIRE warning on it, but I only let him wear it during the day (for easter) I would never put him to bed in it. Too risky.

There was something about the flammable clothing on the a current affair (i think it was) and saying how they dont have the warnings on adult clothes, they dont have to. Pretty dangerous when ya think about it. But even if they did im not sure that adults would take much notice anyway... Sorry that was a little off topic. :o

Even though bubs hasnt arrived yet i still try to take notice of the warnings, i think its pretty important and i dont want bubs in danger...if they were very flammable then no i wouldnt buy them..i dont think...i dunno..:)

It is a worry.
I have noticed with high quality cotton and organic it has to be kept away from fire
Which I buy for my boy who has eczema.
edit: another good reason to co-sleep i think.

Yes I take notice. Alot of those sleeping bag things are high fire danger and I wonder why they bother as well. I won't buy them. You can find safe ones though if you look around.

I ended up buying a sleeping bag with arms, cut the arms off and sewed it up! Wish I had thought of it earlier!

I have been told that the only reason the sleeping bags are considered 'high fire danger' is because a child who is wearing one is unable to run away from a fire iykwim. The fact that the child is usually to young to be able to run from the fire anyway is not taken into account lol.
