Gladstone Hospital.... Your experiance.

Im not due untill Auguest with my second. Had my first in WA and was a great experiance.

Today i had to go to the maternity ward to hand in a form from Dr about shared care.

Anyway i couldnt help but notice the sick ward is there aswell.... Kinda freeks me out being so close.

I also found the midwifes to be not so friendly.

What was your experience???

Although i have had a child before i seem to be more scared this time around then the first!!! Maybe cause i know what im in for? LOL i dont know but the hospital has scared the crap out of me! And its sooo old....

So please any iformation/story's would be great!

not sure if u mean the private or public hospy but i started a thread when i was preggers titled birthing experiences at gladstone public hospital or something similar. So if ur thinking public maybe try n check that out :)

I've heard some pretty bad reports about Gladstone hospital. We only dealt with emergency when we were up there but DH has been in there before. As far as maternity goes when we were living in Boyne our neighbour was pregnant. She said that anti-natal visits were all on one day and you get seen when you get seen. Some times she'd sit up there for 6 hours. When she had problems they did nothing to help her so she took herself to rocky where they actually did something and she was told that because of Gladstone not doing anything she could have had bub at 25 weeks and lost him. When she did have bub she said the staff were horrible and not one of them were willing to help her BF so she went straight to FF.

In a way I was glad I didn't fall pregnant while we were in Boyne cos Gladstone hospital was just so different to the way things were for me in Canberra.
