Spotting at ovulation?

Hi
Just wondering if anyone else here has had spotting at ovulation before? Is it a pretty sure sign of ovulation?

I started getting ferning on CD 6(am now CD 9), it was really fullon yesterday afternoon, and then during the night i got some tinged CM, and today i only have partial ferning, temp is still low tho, but i guess if early this morning was ovulation then it will rise tommorow

I had a reasonable heavy bleed a couple of months ago (like one day of a period) when I ovulated. I got pg that month and then miscarried - I don't think it was related but it was wierd because I'd never had either bleeding at o or a m/c before. I read on the net somewhere that you can get spotting if you get bleeding from your ovary when it releases the egg.

Hi Doula :wave:, I got spotting at O for the first time last month around O. It consisted of a tiny bit of brown flecking at night, and then the next day there was light pink on the TP once or twice when I went to the loo, followed by a tiny bit of brown spotting later that afternoon/evening.

It gave me the fright of my life to start with so I read all I could about it on google. What I found is that it seems it could happen a couple of days either side of O potenially (although I am not certain about this), and it can be a good sign of fertility. Spotting at other times mid cycle however can be a sign of something wrong, so if it happens several cycles in a row it's probably worth getting check out.

Two theories I read was that it was either a little bit of blood from the egg bursting out of its follicle, or the highest level of hormones at the time of O cause a tiny bit of the fluffy lining of your womb to fall off.

I don't know if that really answers anything for you, but who knows :p hope it's at least a bit helpful

(Just to add to Tea lady's post - I suspect I might have had a bit of a chemical pg this month.. but it ended in a late AF)

Hi Doula,

I'm pretty sure that ovulation bleeding consists of very small amunts of blood.
Bright pink or dark brown if it is old. Barely noticable.

I've had it a few times and normally get a really sharp twinge on the right side on the same day. It only lasts for about a second.

I had a pinky-reddy tinged glob of cervical mucus on day 14-15 when I was TTC :) Now I have the 33week belly to prove it!
