KEMH as private?

Hi, this is my first pregnancy and I would really like to have my baby at the Family birth centre but as a private patient so that if I do need to be transferred, I still get my choice of dr. Has anyone got any suggestions for OBs that work privately from KEMH. I've been told that this is an unusual request.

Your GP may be your best bet. Mine had a booklet listing all the ob's and where they worked. You usually need a referral to the ob anyways.

I had my bub at KEMH but as a public patient, i too plan to have my bub at the birth center but i had to be induced so i had to have bub at the main hospital, it found it a great hospital and im going to have his bub at KEMH aswell, as for going private have you got your own ob? If so could you ask your ob if he can deliver at KEMH, maybe they have been asked that question before because is a public hospital, but that does mean that they dont have private doctors there, Hopefully you can get some awnser, i hope it all works out for you, sorry if i havent been much help.

I was tossing up whether to go private at KEMH or not when I was pregnant with my little (I have since M/C), I was booked to see Linda Wong as she has visiting rights at KEMH, another couple that I know of are Dr Cliff Saunders (I think), Dr Penell, you could try ringing KEMH and they should be able to tell you how to find out who delivers privatley.
