Tonsillitis

Hi everyone

Our 6 month old has just been diagnosed with Tonsillitis.

The doctor said it was fairly common, but I didn't think it would be in a 6 month old infant. We were given an antibiotic to treat him.

Anybody else have a similar experience or know of people who have?

Hi there, our eldest got his first case of tonsilitis at around 6 months, then he got it about every 2-3 months after that until he was almost 2. He hasn't had a case in almost 2 years now. I suffered from tonsilitis as a baby also, but "grew out of it" around 4 years old. Maybe its somehow genitically linked. I wouldn't worry though, apparently its worse if you get it when you are older as then the likelihood that you will need to have your tonsils out increases.
