Hi

I was just wondering what detergent you use for washing you nappies.

I have been using one called Earth Care from the supermarket and have found it isnt getting all of the urine smell out recently. I tried the one from Nutrimetics and that didnt get the smell out at all.

The nappies look clean but still smell.

Also does anyone know how to make the nappies softer. I out bigger inserts in my DS's the other day and didnt realise until then how rough they have gotten.

Thanks p.s. I use Baby beehind (i cant remember the name but they are the one size fits all bamboo ones)

its probably not the right thing to do but I have been adding vineger in my fabric softner bit and leaving them to air outside for a few days cos im sick of the wee smell. I just use omomatic sensitive powder

the teething and hot weather makes the smell worse

I was using Omomatic Sensitive and am now using The Eco Store powder for Front Loaders. It's better.

Bumgenius do an odour removing spray. If you've done a strip wash and played around with extra rinses and detergents, get some of the spray. It works well.

Bosistos EucoFresh.

I LOVE it.

The smell of eucalyptus oil when I wash my nappies makes me really happy, I adore the smell of eucalyptus.

I have never once had an issue of a single smelly nappy either.

Occasionally when I do a hot wash I will add a little bit of proper eucalyptus oil too.

The nappies don't come out smelling of eucalyptus, but they smell clean and it hasn't messed with their absorbency either. :)
