Hi All,
First post here @ the forum!!:yelclap:
I am 27, trying for #2 for 11 months. I have just been diagnosed with PCOS...but...I can't understand how. I have no symptoms, except for irregular cycles and I concieved my 1st on the 2nd cycle after getting off the pill.
Been prescribed Metformin 500mg, 1 per day.
Has anyone else been diagnosed with PCOS, with minimal symptoms? (I had an onternal ultrasound, so I am not doubting the diagnosis)
And how have other ppl TTC gone on Metformin?
Love to hear from you!:ecomcity:

I conceived my daughter third cycle off the pill but knew I had PCOS before I started, natural conception no assistance. This one took 11 months, 4 cycles of clomid and a laparoscopy so you certainly aren't alone! I wish you all the best with your BFP!

I was diagnosed with PCO at 17 and told I would probably never have kids. I married my husband after telling him that we might never have children. Luckily he loved me enough to stay with me! I am also over weight and have hair in places I'd rather not. However, I concived both babies on my 3rd cycle each time with no medication to assist. I am now on metformin and aldactone but for the weightloss, insulin resistance and hair.
My girlfriend was trying to concieve for 18 montsh before she found she had PCO. She had no syptoms what so ever apart from having trouble concieving. She was only diagnosed after going for help to concieve. She is tiny and has no other side effect. After 18 months of trying she concieved after having daily injections and a fertility specialist to assist with timing etc.
Good luck!

Hi there and firstly :hugs:. PCOS sucks!!!
When i was told i had it i was told i would never have kids. After three years of trying and serveral clomid rounds i gave up and with in a month fell pregnant with my DS.
I have now been TTC#2 for over 2 years with not even a BFP. It is a hard journey and i hope you get you BFP soon.
I am on metaformin 2000mg a day. how are you going with the side effects?

What is with all these doctors telling us we won't be able to have kids??
When I was 20 a endocrinologist told me I'd have major problems conceiving, and she said the same thing 9 years later, and that metformin couldn't help me because I'm not overweight. This time I got a 2nd opinion from an optimistic doctor who prescribed Met, and I've had 2 regular cycles already.
I really hate that I've gone through my 20s believing it'll be impossible. That's got to have affected my cycle - all that negativity! Now I just want to prove that first doctor wrong. :raspberry:
Hi :hugs: to you all. I have a friend with severe PCOS and had really strong symptoms. She was told if she ever wanted children that contraception was a no no as she would be eliminating her one in a million chance! She fell within 4 months of her wedding and is now expecting her third! I think the middle child took a while to conceive but this "you cant have kids you've got PCO" is just ridiculous! All the best - sending you lots of :babydust2:

I have PCOS.. was diagnosed a few years ago.. the only symptoms I had was the hair, acne, and I put on a little weight (still not overweight though), irregular periods etc.
My Gyno never said 'you can't have kids' his words were "It will take longer to conceive" :)
