hi everyone, I can't be bothered with the MCN's. I have 24 BG pockets nappies ready to go. Did anyone else go through this?

Don't stress. I've used cloth on both of my kids, but not before three months. Newborns poo too much, and I can't be bothered with the washing!! I always use disposables for the first few months.

Don't feel bad. You'll get your energy back and be using cloth in a few months.

:iagree: I used disposables only for about 2 weeks and then I used sposies and my 6 small bumgenius AIO and slowly started using my small ittis and my GK..... and still used sposies at night. For about only the last 3-4 weeks have I been using my MCN mostly Full time.
The BG pockets are probably way to big on a new born even on the smallest size so just put them away and try again in another few weeks.

Enjoy your new born!

Thanks for the reassurance! The amount of nappy changes I've had in 10 days is out of this world so I couldn't have imagined washing them all too. It is good to know it slows down. What are they like after 3 months?

If you want to use MCNs but don't want to do the washing - consider getting a nappy service.

I was given one with each of my two babies as a gift, and I used them for the first 12 weeks - they deliver nappies once a week, take away the soiled ones twice per week - you just need to have a cover and a snappi and when you change you put the wipes/cotton balls and liner all in with the nappy in a bin they provide for you - very easy, convenient and the cost per week is the same as the cost for disposables.

Once bubs was 12 weeks then I used my MCNs, but I still was doing 6 or so changes a day.

not so many poo plosions now and generally no poo over night either! She does a big one after her feed of a morning and maybe a few little bits through the day!!

I tend to use good old terry flats for the first 6 weeks, and then all my MCN start fitting nicely. But I have big bubbas, 4kgs at birth at least.

Everybaby is different, my little guy only poos every 4-5 days..

but G pooed every day, sometimes more than once.

MCN's are generally too bug for NB unless you get NB sized ones, and then they grow out of them in a few weeks.

Give it a few more weeks... I found the BG's were the first of my MCN to start fitting nicely.

I didn't use my BGs until DS was about 2 or 3 months old as they were just too big.

I used sposies for the first few weeks until I acquired enough small MCN.

Don't worry about it, just wait a couple of weeks til everything settles down a bit. The first few weeks are hard enough, there's heeeeeeaps of time to get lots of use out of the MCNs.

Yup, sposies here for the first 4 weeks too. Partly because I didn't have my nappies made yet and partly because I wanted to be sure I was coping in other ways before trying cloth nappies too!

Don't feel guilty and don't let it put you off later.

I found that the washing was really no more than having to wash bubs clothes as I do them all together anyway (rinsing nappies first of course!)
