Hi all , we are looking at setting up an owner operated Montessori Child Care Centre in Northern Queensland (Qualified Early Childhood Teacher and fully trained in Montessori). The centre we have come across is not new with sparkles but is clean and will offer an excellent nurturing service. Over time we have plans to enhance the facility but it will be a work in progress. If you had the choice that offered high service education and care as apposed to normal everyday programs and normal quality care what would your thoughts be? That being said what factors influence your decisions in selecting child care centers? Does owner operated make a difference to you? How do you think Montessori will be received?

This is a big step for us and we really appreciate any feedback you might have :shakehands:.

Hi There
Although my little girl is only 1, I'm very interested in the Montessori philosophy and schooling. I'm in Townsville though so I guess it'd depend on where in Nth Qld your Centre would be located.

The big one for me when picking care is,
1. The staff must be great with the kids.
Not just stand around talking to the other staff.

2. This would have be The next big one for me. The cost, I would't pay for care which is really over priced.

Hi Shellsbubs,
We can now say that it is 5 minutes south of Cairns near the Trinity Anglican School. We have just exhibited at the North Queensland Baby and Childrens Expo and had a fantastic response.

We will be opening shortly after Easter.

I'll keep it in mind. I have been thinking of giving c.care a go in a few months time.
I'm sceptical of alternative education at a higher level, because I have heard some horror stories (of the stick wagging the dog etc), but personally happy to give a more wholistic approach a go at this level.
