Ok I know mums are territorial about their prams but was wondering whether anyone could give their opinion as to which was better - a Mountain Buggy (probably the new smaller one - Swift?) or a P&T (probably a dash as i have heard the brake on the sport is a bit of a pain for thong wearers *the shoe variety*?) .

This is my first bub and I only want to get one pram (ie i have friends with a stroller for shopping and a walking pram) - I live surrounded by hills so want to be comfortable walking but also want to be able to take pram in car and go to shops easily etc. My 'plan' is to not need a toddler seat so that is not my entire priority when purchasing pram (i guess i might eat my words in a year or two with that comment ).

Any other suggestions would be welcome (ie city jogger etc).

thanks Flis

I love my mountain buggy and wouldn't trade it for the world ... even for a phil&ted's :). It is such a fantastic walking pram over all sorts of ground - dirt, sand, concrete, kerbs, etc, etc. It's sturdy, light, easy to fold.

I only just bought a stroller when my ds turned 2, before that I'd used my mountain buggy for everything. I needed something small to take on holidays and as I've only got a tiny car the mountain buggy and luggage for 10 days away was just not going to work.

I have a friend who has a phil & ted's and she loves it, but openly admits that a mountain buggy is a better pram especially for off road walking.

I have no idea about the mountian buggy, but I have a phil&teds and love it- though I so hear you on the thong comment!!!

The biggest downfall with the p&t is the lack of space in the undercarriage. Apart from that its great. I live bush so often walk on firt tracks and can't fault it.
