almost everytime my newborn ds does a wee it ends up out of his nappy and up his side.. wetting his singlet and what ever clothes hes wearing!:crying: i use good nappies.. huggies newborn.. ive been told to point his willy down when putting the new nappy on so it cant shoot out.. and i make sure nappy is on properly and nice and tight.. but it still gets out!! i dont know how.. is there something i can do, or something that i am doing wrong? or is it just going to happen because hes a boy.. personally its a little frustrating.. but i can deal with it.. its just its getting cold now and when i have to strip him down and change him in the middle of the night he gets cold and screams.. i hate seeying that :( hoping someone has the answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aw chick :hugs:, I remember going through this when DS was a newborn. For us it stopped happening at around the 3 week mark, I too have no idea why it happens.
Please don't beat your self up about it! :).
My little boy would leak out of huggies too. I found that "baby love" nappies fit him better because they weren't as wide.
Good luck
the midwives in hospital showed me to put the nappy on ... and then fold over the top section of a huggies (fold in INWARD toward the baby) - there is a plain white section at the top of the front.. above where the velcro sits... about 1/2 an inch??
I never had any wee leaks (we had explosive poos instead  ) - dont know if the folding made a difference...
good luck
Like Veve said, on the front (where the velcro sticks) fold that top section in half, effectively making the nappy a bit shorter. The velcro will still stick OK. It fits much better that way. Plus run your fingers around the side bits (around legs after you have done it up, make sure that the leak guards etc are sitting right (Does that make sense? Its hard to describe in words...).

I had the same problem with huggies. Still do - I used the Crawler samples I got in the bounty bag the other day and they both leaked too.
I use Aldi Mamia brand - we hardly ever have any leakage. They are a bit higher in the waist, which seem to make all the difference.
It's just part of having a newborn. One trick when you're out or at night is to double up with a newborn huggies (for eg) and then a slightly larger size on top. They'll still cry when they're wet enough for it tobother them, but it wont leak out onto their clothes and bedding as readily.
I use huggies, started out with babylove, i found they were worse!! but ds leaked in the newborn ones, but stopped when i put him in the infant size huggies. I think the newborn ones were too small for ds as he was a big baby and i used them for a while - it never occured to me that they mightbe too small. Also the bigger huggies nappies are different according to sex, like the boys ones are specially for boys bits lol, whereas the newborn ones are generic. Not sure if that helps you at all, but that is what i found! Good luck!!
We only ever used huggies for newborns, they seem to be the only ones that fit our boys properly.
1 tip that works every time is make sure you point 'him' down wards. Then it directs the pee into the nappy and not to the sides.
Good luck!

i am sooooooooooo very happy! he is no longer wetting through his clothes!! i figured it had to be the nappies!!.. so went out and bought some infant huggies boys nappies for 4-8 kg!!.. hes not 4 kgs yet!.. but they are a dream!! they sit so much higher and seem to have alot more padding.. it gets it all! thing thats a bugger though is they only come in small packs for around $20!.. they dont come in the big bulk boxes.. that doesnt seem fair!.. but i did notice for when hes a bit bigger the box boy nappies start at 6kg.. maybe huggies are trying to get rich cos they know all little boys have this problem so the mums have to buy the expensive ones! hehe.. anyway now the only prob is when im changing him and he wees up his clothes when the nappy is off!! hehe!! i can deal with that!!

When you undo his nappy, don't remove it straight away. Leave it there for about 10 seconds, then take it off. For some reason all boys pee the minute you take their nappies off.
