ok,.. so I never thought I would complain about this:cool:,..it's what I have wanted,..prayed for,..and dreamed of!!! And now it has happened,..and I am worried!

Rafferty has gone from being a rubbish sleeper (waking every 40mins all night) to being a great sleeper! Seemingly overnight!!!! On Sunday night he slept from 7pm till 1am,.quick feed,.then back till 4am,..then down till 7:yelclap:,..and last night I put him down at 6:30,...he slept through till 1am,..quick feed,....4am quick feed and he is still asleep at 7:40am!!!!

So,... my question is,.. can a babies sleep pattern settle down this quickly,.???????

Yes, i think so.
My bub is 7 months and her sleeping patterns can change quite dramatically out of nowhere.
She can sleep through for a week then be up every two hours for weeks. It almost always changes suddenly.
Enjoy the rest

I just wanted to say wtg Raff. i bet you feel like a new woman Jane.

I guess their sleeping can turn bad at the drop of a hat, so i would say that it can become good that easily.

It can happen !

They change all the time ....

I know Boof went through a great stage at around this age for a few months ... I wont say anymore cause I dont want to put a dampener on things !

Yaya for improvement :smiliedance:

Sheesh Jane, are you never happy?? ;):laughing:

But really, I'd say as long as he still seems his happy little self when he's awake, and there's no sign of illness otherwise, then just shut up and enjoy it! :)

that is amazing :smiliedance:

he's showing you he can do it. if he stops you'll have to find a gentle way to remind him;)

:goodvibes:First off :hugs::smiliedance:yeh for Raff...well done matey!!

In my short experience, yes they can change suddenly (for better or worse nights sleep)

My first use to also sleep in 45min blocks and wake all the time, and I spent about 13mths of rubbish sleep...then he just started to sleep through!! praise the lord I say...

Max is still up 2 -?? times a night...

They will tend to have a cruddy sleep on the days they acheive something new...say sitting up alone, new teeth, crawling, walking (first times)...I think it's because their little brains are stimulated in a different way and they just want to keep doing it IYKWIM...(well that is what I have noticed)...could be any number of new things...even environment, other kids etc will affect them...

Sounds like he has just worked all this out and decided that sleep is a good thing and has relaxed for a bit...good thing is it only takes about 3 nights for little kids to become a habit, which is great for sleep!!!! Make the most of it matey, and enjoy!:flowerz:

:hugs: It's hard when they give you good sleep and then go back to constantly waking. Hopefully once he is over the cold he will sleep better again. He now officially has more teeth than my almost 18 month old!
