Hi I'm new to Werribee & I've not yet meet many people. The isolation is beginning to settle in - something needs to change. I work part-time from home and do 'drop' into the office occassionally (for a social fix) but I'm in need of a bit more social contact. Is there anyone who is out there or understands?

Hi,
I know how you feel. I live in Brisbane and had my own home business for a while and I know how lonely it can get. I swapped with my husband and now he works from home and I went out and got a part time job. I like the social contact. I have a 2.5 year old little girl and I do miss the time with her. I am hoping to change things soon and work with my husband at home.
I have alot of respect for home base business owners as it can be challenging in many ways.
Hope to talk again soon.
Wendy :)

Thanks girls! Yes it is very unsocial being at home with a little one. I listen to stories from my grandmother & her sisters and it's incredible the support they gave & got from being in a smaller community... I say 'what community?' one of the disadvantages of the 'modern' lifestyle we all try to attain.

Hi,
How's it all going ? I would love to be living in a small community. Hope you are enjoying Bub Hub as much as me. I actually feel normal after reading the posts.
Hope to talk again soon.
Keep smiling
Wendy & Tiffany :p

Yes a small community would be great. If only we could have it all! A close nit/small community that supports each other & the luxury of a well paying job... only there's not too many of those in country locations.

Hello!
I know exactly how you feel.
I moved to Brisbane 34 weeks pregnant and with a 4 y/o. I knew noone, did not work, do not drive so was housebound!
I have been here 2 years this xmas and am still finding my days lonesome and isolated, have met very little people, somedays I just want to give up, other days I just wish I had that special friend to call for a chat :(
You are not alone! The thing I did that helped was joined a playgroup. Even though I have not formed a close relationship with any of them, it gets me out of the house if only for an hour or so. Where abouts is it that you live? I have not heard of the place before.
Keep your chin up and keep smiling!

Looking forward to chatting with you on the boards!! I too was feeling a little isolated home at first but have realised that you have to try and meet people and get out or else you'll go crazy!! :p Have now meet some great friends through this site (I'm in Brisbane) so I hope you can do the same in your area :)

Kristy I take my hat off to you for keeping on going. I'm assuming you're doing it on your own. Wow! I really hope you meet a kindred spirit soon. I know in Melbourne there's a single parent association maybe there's one near you in Brisy. Did you move to Brisbane to be near family or to get away?
I have some very close friends but they are interstate it's just not the same. I must admit special friendships require a lot of effort & sometimes with the little one I find it too hard.
Making the effort is the key so I'm giving it my best. I'm out this morning to meet some mums.
Thanks again girls!! :p
