View Full Version : Tut tut D'Orsogna
Yes, another parents with prams bay gripe - but this one is particularly annoying.
Today I was parked in a 1 of 2 parents with prams bays, loading groceries into my car when a salesman in a D'Orsogna badged vehicle pulled into the other parents bay.
When he got out of his car I politely advised him that he was parked in a parents bay - his response? I'll only be a minute.
I then pointed out a 15 minute car bay 2 bays away. He rolled his eyes at me and walked off.
(OK then I called him a name - not too proud of that :o)
I was loading my car for 10 minutes and he didn't come back so I took his number plate and have reported it to the company.
I know he's only doing his job, but so are the mums out there who need the bays.
What upset me was that in the 10 minutes he was gone, 2 mums came looking for parents parking - including a friend of mine who has a child who is very ill. They had to park across the other side of a very congested and dangerous car park.
I know these gripes are a dime a dozen - and normally I don't care if people park in those bays without kids - but it really irritated me that this company will be earning sales dollars from this guy - what sort of corporate image does this portray?

That's entirely disgusting and rude. :shame: I'm glad you reported him!
Good for you - Interestingly, THe Chair of Dorsonga is a mother of 2 - I'm sure she would be very unimpressed!
I can understand if it was a large shopping centre with many empty parent with pram bays (i was tempted to on many occasions, but necr did). Thats not acceptable. I bet he was the type of person who would park in the disabled bays "cos he was just going to the ATM"
I prob would have complained too.
In his defence, you have no idea just how hard everything becomes, and how much easier these bays make your life, until you actually have a baby!
The company just called!
They decided not to give him a written warning (which was my suggestion :D) because what he did wasn't illegal.
My response was that although it wasn't illegal it was an honour system and it didn't reflect well on the company if their representatives won't uphold the honour systems society has in place.
However they did apologise. Fairly ordinary response from them but good of them to call. They have directed their sales team not to use the parents bay in the future.
Score 1, mummies. :D:D:D

Glad you got a response from them!! IT is a pretty disgusting thing for him to do....esp with the other bay 2 parks away.
OT but.....funny thing is...the last 2 weeks I went to a big shopping centre. One that I can sometimes get a PWP park at, but they are pretty busy, so not always. I was there at the same time I usually am...and both weeks, there were 2-3 spots available in those bays. As I put my blinker on to park in the first one....i quickly turned it off and kept driving as i remembered the kids were both in daycare!! :o Big fat old preggo me had to park ages away because I didnt' have the kiddies with me. :D

:yelclap: I'm so glad you complained!!!
I have never parked in a parents car park (i'm not a mum :p), but i haven't parked in the disabled carparks before either. Even when i went shopping at 10:30pm, there were 12 free, and i was just going in for 30seconds. (although i think that might be a legal issue.)
I've complained in the past when i saw teenagers or non-parents use the parent parking spaces though

And this twin pram is getting ******* HUGE!! About as big as i was at 36weeks with Nick!! But I won't use them without the kids ATM, it just takes me a little longer to get in, but it's not dangerous for me to walk that far (yet! :D).
