My DS is nearly 6 months old & has been on NAN 1HA Gold since he was about 2 months old. I am thinking of putting him on the regular NAN once I swap him over rather than the Gold, just because its cheaper.

Has anyone else done this & had any problems?

I did a similar thing too. I switched Brion from S26 Gold to regular, cos it was getting to expensive. I didn't have any probs. Mind you Brion was already on solids at this point and getting enough nutrients from that. But I don't think it will matter too much if you swap. The Gold varieties just have extra nutrients etc, but they aren't necessities. The regular formulas are still made to a standard of nutrients and minerals that are essential for baby. The other vitamins and minerals are just frills. Just keep an eye on your bub when you switch and make sure it doesnt upset his tummy or anything and you should be ok.

Hi Sharvs!
My DS had Nan 1 HA Gold from 2 months and when he turned 6 months I started to give him Nan 2 HA Gold. Does your little one have allergies/sensitivities or do you have any? The only reason my DS was on a HA Gold formula is it's hypoallergenic. I have a lot of allergies and his pedia didn't want to trigger any of his. So it's a precautionary measure. Ask his pedia or GP. If he's okay with the regular Nan formula then that would be great.

i didnt realise they were all different prices coz i never took much notice. i had DS on s26 gold coz thats what they had him on in the hospital.

now he is close to 6 months and on solids and i know formula prices differ over brands i have him on heinz nuture now. it is alot cheaper!

i just switched him over, not gradually. he has had no problems. and i am $7 better off each week. :smiliedance:

i think i have to second this question!! there are other HA brands available, go to a couple of chemists and have a look. i'm not too sure what they are (not much help am i  ) cos i never had to use them on DS.

if you're switching just because, most of the time you can swap cold turkey and DS won't care too much. especially if you stick with the same brand as they tend to be similar in flavour.

DS has been on S26 step two for a few weeks, and changed over without a problem.

good luck!!
