Hi all

My DH & I got caught up in the heat of the moment on Valentine's Day and I totally forgot what time of month it was. I'm a bit rusty on all this so want to know what our chances are that i might have conceived (we conceived first time around with each of our 4 children so I guess you could say we're quite fertile). We were planning to hold off trying again til next year, but anything would be welcome.

I have a 25 day cycle and we did it on Day 9 (after last AF) without protection. I haven't been charting so am not quite sure whether I am meant to ovulate 14 days before my AF or mid-cycle.

Can you please help with some info?

Thanks

Are you on cycle day 9 or 9 days past O? If you are on cycle day 9 and you have a fairly standard 12-14 day luteal phase then I would say there is a chance. As you are probably only a couple of days away from ovulating and sperm can last up to 5 days with the right conditions.

I'm a bit confused -

Going off your subject title 3-4 days before AF I would say the risk is low

On the other hand - you also said you are at day 9 - so I would say risk is pretty high.

Perhaps the title was meant to be 3-4 days before O??

Its a bit confusing but id say your chances are highish..

Yes, it was meant to be 3-4 days before ovulation. My brain is already fried (but that can be blamed on 4 very naughty kids!)

In that case I would say - there might just be a beautiful baby on the way! Good Luck!!

sounds like it is going to be a BFP this month for you esp if you are one of those who just have to look at DP the wrong way and your PG

I swear Valentines day is heavily publised and marketed so that Australians conceive ... How romantic!! Buy her chocolates some flowers and end up pregnant!! And I say that in a good way

Part of me would like a BFP but part of me doesn't mind if it doesn't happen til next year. We have an overseas trip coming up in May, which I'd like to be thin and full of energy for.

I'm also bf my DD21months about once a day, but my cycle has been back for nearly a year now. Never tested for O as haven't really been interested about it, til now. So not sure how that would be affecting me.

Ironically we went out the night before to celebrate Valentine's Day, then came home and I was feeling all excited, and he, the computer nerd that he is, went to his regular 11:30pm international conference call with other computer nerds instead!

Last night all the kids were asleep and nothing was on tv, so....!!!

Thats awesome lol!! I know what you mean about worrying if it is the right time but I bet by the time you are at the end of your TWW you will be excited at the idea of another little one.
