Im just switching to cloth, i have had three trial and absolutely hate the thought of putting disposable back on bub.
Im going to get three snadman nights and 6 days....i know i may need more days but how many do you think i should get?
Anyone else use these nappies and have some reviews?
How many wool covers should i get also?
Thanks in advance :):)

I haven't used them but they look way cute! I think I might get some for no.2 when the time comes.

How old is your bub?

Are you planning on trying more brands? You should probably have at least 10 day nappies. I change DS about 6-8 times a day, and wash every 2 days, so I need around 15-20 nappies. I do have A LOT more than that amount though!:o

Maybe get 1 or 2 wool covers, and a few PUL or fleece. I save wool for nights but some ladies like to use it all the time.

Did you mean sandman night nappies? I have never heard of them before so I just goggled it and found a few reviews. Didn't find any bad reviews but didn't really look into it all though.

Sorry I can't help anymore.

Sandman's are awesome, as is the service at Sustainable Hemp Products. Michelle is super helpful and always willing to assist you if you have any worries.

I used Sandman night nappies and they were fantastic. Never had a leak. Sorry I can't help with the number of day nappies etc as my two have been out of nappies for a while now and my memory sucks. :D

I hope they work out well for you. :)

baby is 3 months now. My friend uses them and but her baby in large ones and lots of bamboo liners in them. Her baby is only 5 weeks older so i was thinking of being a bit cheap and buying large also...I just find its going to add up to alot of money buying small med and large then extra large if we need the....should i just buy large?
Im willing to stick with them for now...i know how addictive it is but i really want to do it to help save money not spend hahaah.
Whats the differance with wool PUL and fleece??

We had 3 of them, and sold them. MY DD reacted to the micrfibre in them. We prefer all bamboo or bamboo with a mirofleece liner.

I've heard good things about Sandman's...but I wouldn't buy just the larges and line them a lot... they wouldn't be as effective, if you're still getting poosplosions they'd probably leak.. all around I just wouldn't do it personally... My DS is 10 months and just going into larges now to give you a bit of an indicator :)

The larges are MASSIVE. My boy is 10kg and he's a long way off fitting his large Sandman.

Wool is highly breathable and draws the moisture away. It is good for hot climates. I think fleece is pretty much the same (I'm no expert...please correct me if I'm wrong!)

PUL (poly urethane laminate) is a bit more "plasticky" (for lack of a better word) and doesn't breathe or draw the wetness away.

I use PUL for days and wool for nights when I use fitteds, but I mostly use AIOs during the day.

Why don't you get yourself a mixed brand trial pack as well? Nurture Nappies has a good one and so do some of the other big nappy sites.

 PUL does breathe :D Its the good thing about it, rather than the older style plastic pilchers :barf:
But wool is a natural fibre, only needs washing if its been soiled and is just plain nice :)
Fleece, I only have one cover in fleece, and it doesn't fit well, so no real experience there

Can I just say that hemp can be rather smelly (esp. in the mornings.. eww). I have a handful of hemp nappies and when bub gets bigger I'll be getting bamboo instead! I'm not all that impressed with my fleece covers.. I guess they perform as good as a wool cover, but unless you wash them in lingerie bags they get covered in pills in the machine, also fleece needs to washed more often, whereas wool you need to lanolise then just air between uses.

I've been having a look around for other night nappies and came across a brand called Wild Child. They look pretty good, but I haven't tried them.

Flutiemum, I agree with you regarding fleece. I hardly ever use my fleece covers for that reason.

Wild Child nappies are AWESOME! Sign up for the newsletter and you'll get a heads-up on stockings of her Baby Bling- super special minky napppies with gorgeous embroidery and crystals. They are to die for! My friend has 3 of them but I can't justify the $$$ for them myself, being a cheapskate:laughing:

Do you play the flute, by the way?

Ahh that's good to get a wild child recommendation. I'm a bit of a cheapskate myself :D, but it's looking like a good excuse to buy some more nappies.. My hubby comes into the study and always says 'are you looking at nappies again??'

And I do indeed play (and teach) the flute..
