I exclusively breastfeed and don't go more than 3 hours without Liam wanting more. I haven't had my periods return yet, and I plan to breastfeed until Liam self weans.
Is it possible to fall pregnant before periods return? How was your first period and subsequent ones - better or worse than before pregnancy?
cheers

I exclusively breastfed all my bubbas including our now 5mth old who is fed about every 3 hrs. After DS#1, I got my period back when he was 9mths old. DD it was after 6mths and DS#2 after 4 mths. I was devastated to get it back so soon and I am still feeding him every 3 hrs. Because you ovulate approx. 2 weeks before your period starts, you can get pregnant without first having a period.:D
I exclusively breast fed my two until they were 6 months then even after introducing solids was still breastfeeding several times a day. With DD1 I dropped from 6 feeds a day to 3 feeds a day over a 2 weeks period when she was 11 months - and ovulated and got pregnant without having had a period.
With DD2 I started to drop feeds at 12 months and my period returned. The ovulation pain for the first two cycles was worse than the period - which had never happened before. The period itself was a little heavier but not too different to before. The third cycle the ovulation pain was less, and the period pain more and the fourth cycle I got pregnant again.
Hope that helps!
I have had no periods and now bubs is starting solids I got the implanon put in and had no troubles in having a period free life :yelclap: before that I took the mini pill just in case!
It sure is more so if your child sleeps through the night more than 6 hours even of it's once a week, + a gap of more than 3 hours per feed...I know this as I asked my midwife last week lol

My periods came back when bubs was 4 months old. My periods were no different to before PG, so pretty good really.

Both my boys were fully breastfed, and very big eaters. I got my period back when Logan was just over 3 weeks old (yes, i do mean weeks lol). I was pregnant by the time he was 3 months!
It took a little longer with Angus, and i got my first period when he was just over 5 weeks.

No I haven't had any problems with it :) I know it isn't for everybody though.

Just to jump in,
With my first I think (can't remember to well) that my period returned as normal.
This time around it's different, I am still B/feeding but he goes around 7hrs of a night without a feed and he's on solids during the day. I had spotting on Wednesday last week and only on the tp not enough for a liner. Got all the cramps and sore boobs but that was it, no real af. Has anyone had this happen and then their normal period return the next month?
Just curious
