Kidney Stones

Hi guys,
The other day I had an emergency Ultrasound and the doctor found that I have kidney stones. They said they wont do anything about it if it isn't hurting me, but now I feel its starting to hurt and I'm wondering if anyone else has been in this situation?

hi littleboritto, I had kidney stones that started to move early in my first pregnancy. The Kidney stones can be there all your life and not cause any problem, but when they move the pain is extreme. Because I was preg, the hospital could do nothing but give pain relief. There is surgery if it is safe to do so, and there are other xray type of examinations, but both were out of the question since I was preg. I just had to put up with the pain, take panadol, in hospital they gave me a pethadine shot, that is how severe the pain can be. One weekend I think the kidney stones passed and I was pain free for the rest of the preg. If you are preg there is not much that can be done, and if there is no pain there is not any need for treatment. I hope the pain doesnt get too bad for you, it is truly serious pain, I found giving birth less painful. goodluck, Marie.
