I'm 35 weeks into my 3rd pregnancy so I'm used to experiencing 'symptoms' of pregnancy that I never have before because BOY! are pregnancys so different....
but I never expected to get the pain I'm getting in my stretchmarks. I feel as if they're tearing apart.. they're SO sore!
Is this normal? What can I do to ease the pain? I've been rubbing cocoa butter into them every day and it eases it a little but definitely not enough! They hurt soooo much!
Anyone got any suggestions to ease my pain?!

awww :crying: yeah i know the pains your are talking about.. i got them to.. really bad.. felt like tearing.. and very stingy and sore.. i rubbed everything on my belly.. coco butter.. vaseline.. bio oil (suposed to be the best for stretch marks) but unfortunately nothing made them stop hurting.. just something you have to deal with really.. but your nearlly there!! only 5 more weeks to go!! maybe try having a warm bath.. will be relaxing and maybe sooth them a little!!;)
u should go down to the chemist or doc to see wat is the best to use, mine used to itch like crazy and the only thing that stopped it was just to keep rubbing in bio oil

what ever you do, don't rub or scratch them because they will streach even further. it makes them worse. Go to a naturapath and get an all natural remedy, best for your skin and bubs.

thanks for your suggestions and reassuring me (sadly) that I'm not alone! Its a horrible feeling they are so painful! I've had itching with my previous pregnancys but never this incredible pain before!
I'm going to go to the chemist tomorrow and see what they say and if I get no help there ill try a naturapath :D

i'd suggest having a nice warm bath with moisturising bath oils and then when you get out of the bath, rub a generous amount of Bio-Oil or Palmers Cocoa Butter into your skin whilst its still warm... Thats what I did all through my pregnancy... And if you don't have a bath then do it after a warm shower.
Another bit of advice that was told to me by a dermatologist too - don't use SOAP. Soap dries your skin and its even worse with stretchmarks... use a moisturising soap like Dove or a natural handmade soap with coconut oils etc .
Hope that helps

I had this also. I ended up developing PUPPPS which is like this extremely itchy rash that looks like pimples popping up in your stretch marks. It is supposed to go away once you deliver, but I had a reaction to the anaesthetic I had for my c/s and it actually made it worse! It was so painful & so incredibly itchy!!! I ended up getting some very low strength cortisone cream prescribed for me by my Dr and it cleared it right up straight away (much to my immense relief!)
Are you itchy also?? If so, I would suggest speaking to your Dr. There are very few things that can be prescribed during PG & BF for skin conditions unfortunately, but this low strength cortisone was OK for me to use during BF as it was only such a small amount I was using & only for such a brief time. I'm not sure if you'd be able to use the same thing during PG??

Yeah, moisturise, moisturise, moisturise, is my only advice - try having a warm (NOT hot) bath (I know this sounds funny but....) but some olive oil in it - it really works well as a moisturiser, and then when you get out, smother yourself in moisturiser. Rinse and repeat - everday! I think I went through a bottle of moisturiser every 10 days while I was pregnant - I moisturised 2-3 times per day becasuse my skin just went so dry.
If cocoa butter is getting too expensive, try just using sorbolene - it's just as good, although doesn't smell as nice - and you can buy a litre of it for about $3 at the supermarket.
Hope you feel better soon!
