I know the relief fundraiser has rasied over $30M (awesome work Australia!! :yelclap:) but how are the people affected by the fires getting money now? I understand that they are being distributed clothes etc from the salvos and such, but what about things like nappies, and sanitary products, general toiletries and having some money in their pockets.
Yes, Centrelink has made itself available (although I read a story just now about a man who was told to show photo id but of course, it was cinder...) but what if they can't get to a Centrelink? The money from the relief fund won't be distributed until they have decided what's going to actually be done with it.
Should we still be organising SOME material goods, especially daily necessities? Or has anyone read if a supplier/supermarket etc is helping to provide these?
