Looking for some advice... every time I put my 3 month old to bed it is an absolute fight. He screams the house down as soon as I start to wrap him, like he knows what's coming! I hate that bedtime is so distressing for him.
It all started when he was sick, he now wants to be held to sleep all the time which obviously is not sustainable.
The only way I finally get him to sleep is by nursing him, putting him back (he cries), nursing him, putting him back etc - until he just gets so exhausted he stops fighting.
Has anyone had a similar experience? How did you correct it?

Have you tried not wrapping him? Maybe just put him straight down and pat his back or rub his chest for a little while until he goes to sleep. Also, make sure you are not dreading sleep times as your anxiety will be picked up by him.
Good Luck.

Hey There I was having the same prob, we went to sleep school for the day with my DS when he was about 12 weeks. Don't know if this will help you but it helped us a bit. They say not to wrap babies after 6 weeks of age, then its all about the feed play sleep routine(wake feed play watch for tired signs back to bed ect). We just keep going in and out of the room patting his back facing away from you and SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. He now sleeps at night about 12 hours with a feed after about 7 hours of sleep. Day time we still have trouble with the cat naps but at least we get sleep at night now!!! :yelclap: Good Luck!!!!!!!:fingerscrossed:
There is a similar thread 'sleeping patterns' under new posts and also in the sleeping/settling area. Not a lot of help in there but a few of us that are in the same situation.
Maybe read the post and join in or PM me if you want to chat.

stick with it Kade's mum! It will get better. I know excactly what you are goin thru. if you don't like sleep school or controlled crying (We went 3 times and still couldn't make it work!) you could try Tizzi Hall ( the web site and book is called "SAve Our Sleep") and it totally works for us most of the time. Basically the idea is to give baby:sleeping: time to do a protesting cry (depending on babies age- our 7 month old gets 18 mins)before they drift off to sleep this way they can self settle when they wake up in the night too.
after a while you can put baby down in cot and they will just go to sleep :yelclap: For me, it was totally worth the amount of energy and loss of sleep required on my part to get the whole routine/ self settling thing going on. yeah anyway best of luck.
