Up until recently DD has slept like an angel (apart from the occasional dream feed).
I do not know why her sleeping patterns has change but up until recently she wasn't on solids and she wasn't at daycare.
Long story short this week DD has been waking up at 11pm so I get up and change her nappy while DP makes her bottle and give it to her and usually she goes back to sleep. Last night though she woke up at 1am and we did the same and DP fell asleep on the couch giving her the bottle but when she woke up at 2am Mary was very unsettled and she could not be put down! Not for a second! So DP woke me up at 3am and I tried EVERYTHING I could think of. Rubbing her back in the cot, softly stroking her head, talking to her to try and sooth her/comfort her.... NOTHING WORKED!!! So being that time of the morning me and DP were both grumpy and tired so I finally thought we not take her for a drive in the car. After half a hour of driving she was finally asleep! :smiliedance:
The real question tho is cause she is 6 monthes is it the teething? was she disorintated? Lack of solids?
DP was saying to me this morning she might start giving her 2 solid meals a day but does anyone else have any ideas?

Possible teething...
DD did the same at 6 months for a little while, about 2 weeks.
Maybe she is hungry?
We also had major dramas at 6 months of age. It did settle eventually.
Check out some of the other threads in the sleeping/settling section here and you will see a number of us have gone through the same thing and there are some good ideas in there.
Good luck!

Probably teething. Could be justthe change in her routines............you mentioned starting solids & daycare.
I hope she resettles soon.

Hi, im the DP , i just need to add that she has settled really well into going into childcare and it never disrupted her sleeping pattern until this week (she has been in childcare for maybe 3 weeks or so) I think it might be the childcare, the solids, i have been SLOWLY introducing it since 5 motnhs and she now has 1 feed a day, which is why im thinking of increasing it two. I think i am more concerned because ive never seen her this unsettled before. I want to comfort her but at the same time dont want to TOTALLY ruin her routine. Its so hard and complicated  I appreciate everyones feedback on this and i am sure its teething, time to restock on bonjella and panadol it seems!

hi guys,
Not that you need my opinion :D
it could be teething or i just thought of this around 6 months old Emmy went through seperation anxiety even in her sleep, she wouldnt settle unless one of us was with her so the only way we could settle her was bring her into bed with us.that fixed it but now she thinks bed time means in our bed
Hey there,
My bubba went a bit crazy for a few weeks at 6 months too. We were in shock because he had always been so good at night. 6 months seems to be some developmental thing because heaps of babies do this apparently. I am someone who desperately needs her sleep and even though I swore I would never do it our little boy ended up in our bed quite a few times and we all got some decent sleep. He is almost 8 months now and has been bck to normal for a few weeks. He gets a bit unsettled like that when he is sick and has been back in our bed then but generally sleeps in his own room for 11 or 12 hours each night!
Hang in there and try not to worry too much. I was constantly worried. Something that did seem to help though was a heater with a thermostat in bubs room. It keeps the temp constant and that early morning wake up stopped!
Wow, this thread is so relevant to me at the moment. My DS is 6 months next week and just in the last 2 weeks he has started to wake at least twice a night again, screaming for comfort and feeds!!!
His 2 bottom teeth have just cut through, still breastfeeding but also on 3 small meals a day. Maybe all the changes at this time.
Sick of DH coming home and telling me that his clients' babies all magically sleep through the night and have been doing so since 2 months...what liars!

Well I was talking to the ladies at the Childcare today and I was explaining out prediciment to them and one of them told me when she had her kids the midwife said if it is a full moon do not plan on getting any sleep. I asked why and apparently they are restless
