Sorry can't help in person but am always here if you need a chat online. I am 25 also, with a 1 year old Jakob. All the best with your pregnancy. It will be the best decision you have ever made. You'll know it when you look into your newborn baby's eyes for the first time :)

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for your reply its nice to know there is at least one person I can relate to.
I had my first ultrasound at 6 weeks & was told that there were two embryo sacks, but only one active heartbeat. This was a little sad but I couldn't imagine having twins !!
I have my 12 week ultrasound this wednesday & my first visit to the hospital (ante-natal) next monday.
I am excited about having my baby, I just wish i didn't feel so isolated. My family isn't exactley supportive & all of my friends have disowned me basically because i have nothing in common with them anymore.
I have my best friend who lives in Brisbane & she comes to visit occassionally but our lives are heading in very different directions now & I can't help but think I am going to be very alone.
Everything is changing, my body, my emotions & I just wish I had someone to share that with.
Regards
Kristy 25
Dear aloneandpregnant
Welcome to this forum. It is a great place to seek advice or just pour out your heart on those blah days. Someone will always listen to you here.
Congratulations on having a baby and am sorry your family is not more supportive hopefully they will come around. Jakob's Mum is so right, you won't regret your decision. I think single parents are fantastic people and respect them greatly. My Mum was one and she did a great job. She was the most inspirational, strong and positive person you could ever meet. I never missed having a father, had a great childhood and never wanted for anything.
Once your baby is born, there will be heaps of new opportunities to make friends. Firstly join a mothers group (through qld child health), they may even have ones specially for single parents, then you can join a playgroup. Just try and get involved.
Take care
Easterlily :)
Hi, I live in Brisbane but am happy to catch up if you need some support or just a chat. I work 3 days but can drive down to GC or meet half way if that suits...my bub loves a drive! It's a pity you don't have much support but there are some great organisations, as already mentioned. Let me know if I can help. Parenting is challenging but not impossible and completely satisfying when you see this beautiful little creature you created!

All the best with you ultrasound. It is so exciting seeing your bubba on the screen. And hard to believe that it is inside you. It is still so little. I was so sick with morning sickness. Hope you don't have it. Hope you are enjoying every minute of it.
I agree it is such an emotional time. I cried sooo much whilst I was pregnant. They aired the series final of "Cold Feet". Needless to say I was inconsolable :o
You will find lots of new friends I am sure. It is easier to meet people with a baby and you have heaps to talk about and give each other support. Join a mothers group, play group, gymbaroo... there is so much out there :)
Let us all know how your scan goes. Will hold your cyber hand for you :p (((HUGS)))

Hi there! :)
Firstly congratulations on being pregnant! Your life will change forever - but in a good way - and you will create the most wonderful new memories......enjoy your pregnancy - I was sick with "all day" sickness and also very tired, emotional and stressed during my pregnancy and I wish I had have enjoyed it more...so I can offer that advice...enjoy it!
Secondly, there are heaps of people to chat to in this forum so no need to feel alone!!
Hope all goes well at the ultrasound - they are the best! :D

Hi Cait.
Thanks for your offer to meet up I could really use a good chat with another I can relate to. Do you have messenger? What times are you online?
Maybe we can chat a little more online & the arrange to meet up, if that suits you.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Kristy :)
Hi Kristy, I live on the Gold Coast at Andrews/Burleigh area. We are roughly at the same stage of our pregnancys, I'm 11weeks! I have 2 boys already and this is my third (hoping for a girl, but another boy would be just as nice). I quit my job because I was just far too sick with m/s to cope and besides everyone I worked with all smoked indoors anyway and that just made me feel worse. I'd love to catch up if you want to, and am happy to chat away on this forum for awhile first if you'd like. If you ever need support eg advice on the hospitals, etc around the Gold Coast area just give me a buzz.
If you want to email me feel free: kezmal@austarnet.com.au
I've got my NT scan coming up next Wednesday which I'm looking forward to - well sort of anyway.
Take care Kristy, and if you need anything at all, just let me know.

Hi Kristy,
I'm Karena and mother to Harry 6mths. I think what you are doing is the most wonderful thing. Obiviously (?sp) you have bonded with your child already to make the decision to do it on your own. You are a very brave and wonderful person. I'm so sorry your family and friends are not supportive of your decision, they may come around when you have the baby and they see it for the first time, that's what happened with my mum. She wasn't very supportive of me having Harry even though I had been married for 6 years and trying for ages she didn't want to become a grandmother, but as soon as she held Harry for the first time all that went out the window and she is now a dotting grandmother that lives in QLD and visits whenever she has the money to. Like the others have said join a mother's group or an interest group and you will make wonderful friends there.
Good luck with your ultrasound it is amazing to see your bub for the first time. Have fun with it. Keep us up to date and I look forward to having more chats with you online. :)

Hello Kristy!
I live in Brisbane, I don't drive but would very much like to one day get the train that way and see what the GC is like!
Maybe we could meet if I do come down?
