I know reflux kids get coughs but should they be barking coughs ???

He always seems to have had a cough since he was born but back in the first months that was the wet horrible ones & where he was aspirating etc.

The last year has been more barking coughs ..... Just as much through the day as of a nite but obviously nites are worst.

He had his last one from early December all the way through till January & now as of yesterday he has one back again ...

I know the weather changing hasnt helped ...

I mean how the hell is ones system meant to cope with 45 down to 25 within a day when it isnt top notch :hair:

Should I just out it down to reflux & leave it alone or should I pushing for them to look at it further ...

I sometimes feel like I now overreact ... Scrap that I know that I do overreact LOL !

I just hate spending these nites where we both dont get any sleep because he coughs all nite & is sounding like coughing up a lung & I freak out that I need to keep an eye on him ....

I don't have any advice for you sorry as I've never had to deal with this... I'd keep pushing for answers though. A friend of ours had a son who kept getting croup and she kept being told that it would be fine, she eventually went to the hospital and refused to leave. He was admitted with full blown pnuemonia.

I think sometimes mum knows best - and if your doctor wont listen then find another one :)

Good luck with it!

(P.S I think you sleep less than I do... I really feel for you on the sleepless nights *hugs*)

Ally, there is a lot of whooping cough around too - not saying it's that, just something to bear in mind if you go to the Dr. Sorry you are both so disturbed at night. And I agree, the change in temperature is so hard for little bodies (any bodies) to adapt :hugs:

He sometimes wheezes ... But I only remember him sorta whistling a few times when he last had it & it was at its worst.

I doubt its WC but who knows ... Guess I should just ask for the test especially when he cant be/ isnt fully vaxxed.

Hey there - are you in Adelaide Reallytee?? Cause WC is quite strongly doing the rounds here atm - I am still recovering from it - DS (almost4) was coughing a lot in late Nov/early Dec but got over it within 2 weeks but he handed it over before we knew what he'd had (cause he is fully immunised his response was less) and I am still recovering from it 2 months later!!!!

I felt silly thinking that I had WC - after all, I'm an adult - but there it was when she tested me!!!
