Hi everyone,

I just wanted to stick my hand up and introduce myself. I'm 33 years old, and DH and I have been ttc since July 2008.

We have been through not trying but hoping, through to keeping an eye on mucus, to now using Maybe Baby for ovulation. Have our first appt with Dr Keeping today to talk about possible fertility issues - not really sure what to expect. DH is 43 and this will be his first, and don't want to wait too long to start making babies!! :)

Look forward to meeting you all! It will be nice to share this journey with people who understand.

Warmest wishes,

onedaymum

Hi all,

Just a follow up on my first OB/GYN doctors appt on our ttc journey. The doctor isn't too concerned at this stage, and has prescribed Clomid and testing - blood test to check ovulation has occurred, ultrasound to check tubes are clear, and sperm tests for DH. Doctor said we don't really need to worry about testing for 3-6 months, but can do so earlier if we want to rule those possible concerns out early. Also, recommended doing temperature charting as the best method for determining ovulation, and has given us charts to graph temperatures (apparently difference can be quite minor, and can be seen better in chart form than list).

So there we go. Feeling much better about it all now. :) Off to the chemist tonight to buy a thermometer, and get my Clomid prescription - won't be able to start til next cycle, as am already Day 9 today.

Good luck everyone!

Best wishes,
onedaymum.

Hi onedaymum, welcome to Bub Hub :). Sounds like your OB/GYN appt went well. It is really reassuring when you can talk to someone about your TTC issues - seems to get you back on track and feeling positive again (thats how I've felt anyway). I am also starting to temp this cycle, when I finally get AF that is...but that's another story. Anyway, welcome and hope your TTC journey is short and sweet :babydust2:

p.s. I'll see you in the 30-35s support group too!!

Thank you for your welcoming words pdogsmum! Both here and in the 30-35s support group. Yeah - its amazing how more positive I feel now. Each month when AF arrives its a bit of a blow. I know we've only been ttc for 7 mths, but its def still frustrating. :) It will be interesting to see how the temping goes. Doc told me that the eggs are only viable for 12 hours, and sperm for 24. Probably standard knowledge, but I though the egg was viable for 24, and the sperm for 48. No wonder it can take time!! How hard is it to pick 12 hours out of a whole month?!
