Hi Ladies,

This is my second cycle on Clomid. I have very regular ovulating cycles and this is a last ditch effort prior to IVF to see if Clomid might do the trick in helping produce a healthier riper egg - incase thats the reason for my unexplained secondary infertility....

I have always been an early ovulator somewhere around CD11-14 and I was under the impression that Clomid should help delay ovulation so that you have a riper follicle and therefore a better quality egg?

First cycle on Clomid I ovulated CD14, and this month I just got my positive OPK on CD12 so it looks like my body is sticking with early ovulation.

Would this matter??

TIA :flowerz:

I haven't heard of clomid delaying ovulation just that it assists with getting follicles to ovulation size etc so I wouldn't think it would matter when you ovulate as long as you are and the eggs are a good size. I hope it is all good and you get your BFP!

Hello Ladies

I wonder what you think....

I am newish to this bub hub so hope I can just reply like this?

I am taking Femara similar to Clomid. It did mess with my cycle delaying it a little.
I ovulated on day 14. Then had a blood test 12 days post ovulation. I had 2 units of Hcg. Then I got a period at day 31.

Does anyone know what the 2 units of Hcg really means. Does it mean there was fertilisation but not implantation???

Cheers

Hi Lisa,
I found with the two cycles of clomid that I did, ovulation occurred earlier than normal... it seemed to speed things up by a few days.
I also wonder if it can cause you to ovulate more than once... :detective:
The FS nurse said that the follicles will be stimulated more than usual, so it's possible that some of them will burst and release and egg, and others will just burst, but not release an egg.
This explained why I had O pains for a number of days.
So I wonder if it is possible that you had a follicle burst on CD12, but actually ovulate (release an egg) a day or two later? (or vice versa - egg release on CD12... follicles playing fireworks the following days!)
In any case, I doubt it really matters, as long as you BD around the right time.
