Hi everyone. My name is Alison, and I need an egg donor.
This is a difficult letter to write, as what I am asking for is deeply personal and, ultimately, life-changing. We are hoping that there is someone who is caring and compassionate enough to consider donating an egg so that we can fulfill our dream of becoming parents. Sadly, after seven harrowing years of IVF treatment, donation is our only chance, and we now find ourselves depending on the kindness of a stranger. It is not how I imagined my life.
My husband and I have a truly wonderful marriage, based on mutual respect, honesty, trust and devotion. He proposed six weeks after we met… and 16 years later, we are still in love and inseparable. A little bit about us:
We have a beautiful home overlooking the sea in one of Melbourne’s leafy and tranquil bayside suburbs;
We love animals and the natural environment, and are members of our local conservation society;
Both our backgrounds are in design, and we find joy in music, art, and the simple pleasures in life, such as a good book, a walk on the beach or time spent in the garden;
We’re both big kids at heart, and longing to share our energy, enthusiasm and love of life with a child of our own. Our home is a happy one… just missing the one thing that matters most. Asking for help is not easy, but giving up hope is harder still.
Obviously we will cover all costs and travel anywhere.
Thank you for reading this.
Ali
