View Full Version : Blood test question
Hi everyone - I was hoping you could give me some advice :) I have had all kinds of wierd symtoms lately - and after BFN HPT's my Dr sent me for a BT. I called to get the results this morning and spoke to a nurse. She said my test results read "levels not high enough for an established pregnancy" and then said she was pretty sure that was a negative. Has anyone else been told of a negative in this manner before? I am pretty certain I am not pregnant but thought this was a strange way to be told? I think I may ring back and speak to my Dr so that I know everything is ok.

i got a positive urine test then a negative blood test.
the results were too low to be positive
but then i did another blood test a couple of days later and it was strong enought to be positive.
my advice - have a urine test first thing in the morning and see if you get a faint line (it may take a while) if its there then you are pregnant...
good luck :fingerscrossed:
Thanks - I might have to take your advice and test soon - just to be sure :)

When I did a HPT w #2, there was no line after the 5 minutes and told DH that his "boys weren't as potent as he thought they were". About an hour later I put something else in the bin and saw a very faint line. Yep I was pg, dr confirmed it but advised me to wait an extra week before doing the blood test.

With my first pregnancy i wasnt feeling well and did a hpt which was negative. I also had a blood test which was negative. 2 weeks later i was still sick so did another hpt and it was positve and had a u/sound two days later that showed i was 9 weeks pregnant. I couldnt understand why the blood test was negative, but in my opinion you should double check with your doctor.
Good luck
