GD Test

Hi Girls

I am 28 weeks and due to have my GD test. We just moved and I have lost my referral, I was just wondering what I have to do before hand. I know you have to fast from 12am can I have anything to drink - like water in the morning? I have rang my Dr to get a new referral and picking it up in the morning. I am hoping to go straight in and get my bloods done. Is there any particular time I have to drink this special drink?

28 weeks along here too! :)
Anyway, for me I had to fast for 12 hours (9pm to 9am which is the appointment time). i can drink as much water I want but no food or beverages. Once at the centre, they'll take your urine and take your blood. The they'll give you abt 300mls of sugary drink and kept on withdrawing your blood 2 more times interval.

it depends on the test. the 50g one you can eat and drink as u please before hand and it only takes one hr. the 75g is the fasting one. i had mine yesterday and it was only the 50g

I fasted just incase. They told me when I got there that I didn't need to. Never mind. They gave me the drink and I wandered around the baby store up the road for an hour, making up a wish list. Thanks Girls
