Ok, so i've decided to try Charlee on Heinz Nurture instead of s26, as its cheaper, and she's older now. The thing is...how do i go about changing? Cold turkey? Or do i swap a couple of feeds a day for a few days, until she's gruadually having all Nurture?

Also, i tried her on Nurture when she was born, and it didn't agree with her (thats why she's on s26)...does this mean she might not be able to take it now either? I'm hoping she will, as it'll save me at least $5 a tin!

Any advice would be good. Thanks.

I use Nuture and had no probs swapping Lukey from s26 Gold however he has had no reaction etc.He is 9 months old too.
Maybe just stick with S26 given that you only have another 8 or so tins until you can give her milk.:D

I swapped from Karicare to Heinz when Wy was 10 months. Never had a problem :) I just swapped his bottles from the morning though in case it made him sick in the tummy etc....

Good luck!

Thanks guys. I'll see how we go with it. I might start tomorrow morning in case she gets a bit :barf: .

Jen, you make a good point. Only 2 1/2 months til i can put her on cows milk, so if she doesn't take to the Heinz, then i'll just stick with s26.

Thanks again!

i swapped lucy onto heinz nuture stage 2 at 7 mths. Went from one bottle a day for the first couple of days until she was having only heinz. no problems. i just kept her on the bottles of lactogen until the tin was finished. a can't believe the price difference in formulas! crazy!

The price difference in formulas are stupid alright. If they're all supposed to be pretty much the same, then why does the price change so much? A tin of s26 at the supermarket here is about $17/18...at the Amcal chemist in town they charge $28!! Tell me how thats right! :banghead:

Your best to change one bottle for a few days then introduce a second bottle again for a few days then so on this slowly introduces it & helps them settle into it a lot easier but remember it can take up to 2wks for them to be really happy & settled on a new formula.
Good luck i agree the price difference is ridiculous thats why sometimes hunting around is a good option !

bellagirl - She had formula from birth, and was bringing it all back up after a feed. As soon as i changed to s26, she was fine!

She was up to 3 bottles of the Heinz yesterday, and seems fine, not even bringing any up after rolling around everywhere (which sometimes happened with the s26?). Its only the 1st stage one, as she had troubles with the s26 follow-on, so i thought i'd stick to something similar and not change too much at once. She'll be on milk in a couple of months, so i'll just stick with stage 1 i think.

Thanks for the advice guys!

i was told by the health nurse that you should still give some ormula even when they can be on cows milk. ahe said at least 1 bottle a day of toddler formula or you could stay with the follow on formula - either would be ok. but she said 1 of cows milk and 1 of formula minimum per day. i also use heinz and i can get it from the local chemist for $10.59 a tin.

i was just wondering how much formula you guys go through a week. beth seems to empty a tin every 6 1/2 days.

Yeah, i was doing that with Mac. I'd make a fruit smoothie or something a day for her using toddler formula, and the rest was cows milk. Just to make sure they're getting enough of what they need.

Charlee goes through about 1 3/4 tins a fortnight, as she will only drink about 150mls a day, with still 5 feeds.
