Hello girls, I am waiting for my AF, but would like to know for my next cycle:
How do you chart your fertility by temperature?
I mean, I know you need a digital thermometer that is designed for charting your fertility? (I have one already)
Basically, I would like to know:
1. What day in your cycle do you start taking your temp?
2. What time of the day do you take your temp (isn't it in the morning?)
3. How many times a day do you take your temp?
4. How do you know you are ovulating by your temp?
5. How do you know you may be pregnant by your temp?
5. Any other suggestions?
Thanking you all in advance
Hi Miracle Baby
I have been charting and temping for a few months now and I do it everyday so it becomes a habit. My alarm is set at the same time every morning and when it goes off, I reach for the thermometre. You have to take your temperature at the same time every morning and must have had 3 hours of sleep before taking it.
A lot of women, not all, have an ovulation dip on the morning of ovulation but ovulation cannot be confirmed until there are three days of higher temperatures. After ovulating, progesterone causes our temperature to rise and progesterone often rises again if the egg is fertilised and implants.
It's not really possible to tell if you are pregnant by your temperature but if your temperature stays high for 18DPO, it's a good bet. As soon as your temperature starts to fall, you can bet AF is her way. Fertility Friend is a free website where you can chart/print your temps so sign up for that if you haven't already.
Good luck and :fingerscrossed:

1. What day in your cycle do you start taking your temp?
cd1 .. WHY? because your temps drop when AF arrives .. so start always on cd1.
2. What time of the day do you take your temp (isn't it in the morning?)
6am is the best, do it before you get out of bed.
3. How many times a day do you take your temp?
ONCE just at 6am.
4. How do you know you are ovulating by your temp?
You really can't be 100% sure. YOU can though tell if your NOT O by your temps.. fertility friend.com will explain.
5. How do you know you may be pregnant by your temp?
In my case, my temps stayed well above the line.
5. Any other suggestions?
If you have been trying for more then 12 months , trott off and get a blood test done to determine if your "ovulating" they can do blood work and tell you within days .. otherwise temping will drive you nuts. GOODLUCK
try fertitly friend, its awsome, and gives you heaps of support in the first two months of joining, after that you have to pay if you want the support, but the basic is fine once you understand it.
