Hi I am a mother at my witts end! :hair:
Every night for the past week its been the same story.
Yacine 19mths has always been such a good sleeper. Put her to bed no crying no fuss just layed down and went to sleep. Not any more!!! :banghead:
She has learned to climb out of her cot which i dont have a problem with as she has been doing to for a while and still would sleep but now she has also mastered the safety gate which we have had to put on her door to keep her in.
I just dont know what to do anymore. I keep picking her up and putting her back into her bed no words no nothing. By the 6th time I lost my patience with her and gave her a smack I never thought i'd smack her thought the shock would make her stay in bed. but no!! :hissy: she still wouldnt sleep. Its usually 9pm by the time she is in bed and asleep.
Please mum/dads anyone HELP!!!! any advise would be great!

i now what you mean my ds was the same it was soooo frustrating i got an extra tall safty gate which he masterd in a week i ended up having to put a door handle safety guard on his door so he couldnt open it i know it sounds really cruel but he was sneeking out in the middle of the night and trying ti plug my electrical appliences in so it was more for safety but now he is a little older(he is now 3) we have a bed time star chart which is working really well so far.
sorry prob not much help but good luck

this is probably not the recomended advice (so please people dont tell me off) but in this sorta case where they wont sleep i'd probably would let put something they like on tv and let them fall asleep watching it (ej has a mat she lies on to watch tv)

We have had a few times like this and trying to make her to go back to bed (as in make her lie in the bed) doesnt help

Thanks for your advise Ladies. The TV thing wouldnt work for us. she's a nightowl when we let her. probably wouldnt go to sleep till 10 or 11pm. No way am I having that!!
Mum of 3 - Not sure if the star chart will work yet as she is only 19mths. will look into it.
