My name is Shannon and i am 24 and mum to a beautiful 2 year old little princess, Mackenzie Grace, and i'm expecting on the 9/10/11 August. I am having a caesaerean this time after an emergency caeser last time, because she was stuck sideways after like, a 2 day labour. No way would i be having any more children if they said i had to try it natural again!!! Too scary! My hubby works away from home alot, so i get a bit bored at home by myself with only a 2 year olds conversation!! I would love to hear from anyone who is due around the same time as me, or who has kids around the same age....

Welcome Shannon,
I have 2 boys Angus will turn 5 years in Oct and Caleb will turn 3 years in Nov.
This is a great place to visit. There are so many people here that can listen to you or give you advise if thats what you need. I try to get on here every day to see what is happening and if there are any posts that I can learn from.
Well, I better let you go now.
Hope to hear more from you soon. :D

Hiya,
I too am due aprox the 10.08.05 (although I keep telling him its ok to come a bit early!) I have a daughter Tash , who is nearly 2 (15.07.03) and I am a full time mum and loving it. My hubby works and so I spend alot of time alone with her and know what you mean about adult company!
I had a pang of heart ache to day as I was giving Tash a cuddle, I thought very soon both of our lives will never be the same again, once this little boy shows up. I know she is going to love being a big sister, but I worry she will change and we will lose the wonderful little person she is.
I hope your pregnancy is OK, isn't it so much more of a hassle with a 2 year old to chase after!
Take care
Monica

I know what you mean Monica, i don't think i've put on quite as much weight this time around...I guess 'cos of all the extra running around you have to do. I too am a bit worried about our lives changing....my little bubba won't be so little any more, she'll be a big sister to someone...hopefully a loving one!!! I'm sure we'll handle it, and so will they...if it was so hard, people would only have one child!
Thanks for replying guys, hope to hear from you soon.... :p

Hi Ladies....
I am 25 and I am due on the 17th August....and have just started maternity leave...so I feel a little bit like I am sitting around just wating.....To top it all off, we just moved from NSW back to WA.....so I am feeling out of it with no one around to have coffee with....
Shannon, a question...one name we have for our baby girl is Mackenzie Louise, how have your found people have responded to your daughters name?? funny questions I know, but we have had some mixed comments about it....
Hope your all tracking well....

Hi Shannon and everyone,
Well I am due 13.08.05. Not long for all of us now! Is everyone getting impatient? I am! I would love to sit down to a large meal and not take an hour to eat it! But not long now. Does anyone feel that they may go a early? Take care ladies.

Hi Marilyn...you asked how people responded to the name Mackenzie? Most people just say 'oh...thats unusual/different' or 'but thats a last name...', but mostly i think everyone likes it. Its a bit of a mouthful because our last name is McClure, try saying the two together!!! We originally wanted to spell it 'McKenzie' but because of the last name, we thought we'd better not put that on to the poor kid!
I have been booked in for the 11th of August now for my caeser...and i'm starting to get nervous...but still very impatient to have it all over with!! I can't wait to see our little bub (supposed to be another little girl).
mumofash...i know what you mean about the eating business!! I too wish that i could sit for a meal without having to have a rest in between mouthfuls! Its getting a bit hard isn't it?
My hubby thinks that i'm gonna go early, but i don't know....i think he just wants to be called in from work (he was at home when i went into labour with our first, and with his first two daughters....)and have to rush home in excitement!!
Anyway, hope everyone is keeping well...keep up the counting down :p !!

Good evening Ladies!
Shannon, thanks for the info.....I think we will stick with the name....but we will wait and see...
I am hoping to go early!!! I am starting to get contractions and my tummy goes rock hard during the night!!!
It is all very interesting and we will just have to wait and see what happens.
I am very much looking forward to meeting this new baby, however starting to worry about the whole birth process.....and just how this child will get out.....
I hope all is going well with everyone else...

Hi all... Well I too am getting impatient, uncomfortable and a little cranky... I am fed up with heartburn, be glad to see the end of that one... I am excited and nervous all at once... The baby is moving alot, he tries to spread out, but there is not much room left for him now, so that too is a little uncomfortable... Not sure if I will go early, sometimes I think I may, and then others not... Getting alot of braxton hicks, not painful, just quite tight... My pelvis is hurting as I do exercise, which is annoying... And other than that, I get this sensation, like pressure, as if my waters are going to break but they don't... Really weird... The babies head is right down there which is really strange at times, as it feels like he has his hand in my pelvis scratching and pushing, very odd sensation... How about everyone else? What sort of sensations are you getting/having??? :)

I am feeling a similar sensation to the scratching and pushing feeling. Sometimes its like bub just throws his/her head quickly and I get a sharpish pain particularly if its towards my bladder. Only for like 2 secs. I am also getting a pain shooting down my left leg on the inner thigh at times again lasting for about 2 secs. I put that one down to the position bub is laying in, must be resting on a nerve or something similar. Because it only happens every now and then. I don't feel like there is any major concern cause apart from that and the eating issues I feel good. And bub is still very active. I exercise a bit too and do yoga and at times have felt the slight pelvic muscle pain. But I again say not too much to be concerned about considering I am 36weeks pregnant! Gotta expect these things.
Just a personal question for whoever wants to answer it? I have found recently that intercourse is getting uncomfortable in any position and at times can be a little painful in the nether regions. Its not a pain deep (if it was I would be straight to the doc) its more superficial, towards the entrance and in the muscle wall. I thought it could be due to the increase of blood, hormones, pressure on the pelvic floor, etc. I asked my mum (she is an experienced nurse, handy too) about it and she said she experienced it a little. Has anyone else found this? I appreciate your thoughts.
Hello Shannon! I am also 24 and my name is Shannon! I have a gorgeous little girl who's name was once going to be Mackenzie! I love the name but we chose Mia-Tayla! That's so weird to think that my name is shannon, im 24 and that we had that name in mind!!! I love Mackenzie for a little girl! I had also in mind Mackellar! God luck with bubby number two!!!! What names have you in mind??
Hi :)
Im getting alot of BH aswell, but my most anoying thing is HEARTBURN! and over the last couple of days i have had really bad pains in my ribs like they are getting bigger???? Which makes sleeping very uncomfy!
About the sex Q? I have found im experiencing the same problem, its almost like its not as stretchy  im not too sure if that the right word to use?
Has anyone else had dreams about giving birth and getting to meet your baby then when you wake up you feel like they should be there with you but their not?
Maybe im just loosing my mind lol

I find intercourse to be really uncomfortable and at times painful as well.. We had to actually stop one time as it was that painful... I have also found up until now to be so enjoyable, I am totally getting turned off now, which is odd... Does anyone get a sharp pain in their bottom? Mine lasts for about 15 or so seconds and comes and goes every 5 - 10 minute, But it doesn't happen every day... I thought it might be due to constipation??? Anyway, each day gets that little bit closer, and am starting to get impatient now and a little curious what our little one will look like... Take care all :p :) :D

Congratulations on your 2nd pregnancy, i hope all is going well for you, i bet your little girl is excited that there is going to be a new addition to the family soon. Im 27 and i have a son Connor who is two and im 8 weeks pregnant. I dont really mind what i have, the hard part will come at my 20 week scan, when i try and resist not finding out what im having! Do you know what your having or is it going to be a suprise?

Hi there Shan...that is weird that we have the same name and everything!!! How old is your little girl? We have decided on the name Charlee Rose for a girl and Jackson something (we haven't really thought of a middle name for a boy yet as its supposed to be another girl)....I loved the name Kennedee for a girl, but its a bit of a mouthful saying Mackenzie & Kennedee!!!
I really don't mind what the sex turns out to be, but i know my hubby would love a little boy as he already has 2 daughters to a previous marriage, plus Mac....but she's a tomboy anyhow (he's a timber cutter and is always working with his chainsaws and grease and stuff), and she's always outside with him getting filthy!
Congrats to you too firstbub...i couldn't resist finding out what sex the bub was...we found out with our first as well. Mackenzie doesn't really understand that there's going to be another littly around soon, she's just REALLY hit the terrible 2's, and is too preoccupied with herself at the moment I think!! I'm sure she'll love helping me out when baby comes though (maybe a little too much!).
I have been getting really bad reflux lately and a really tight stomach, its feels like a basketball! I think because the bub's breech and its head is under my belly button, it might make it feel that way...
Anyway...i am glad to see so many mums following this thread....may everybody stay healthy...(and reasonably comfortable) in these last few weeks!!

Shannon- On the coincidence front my step sister has a daughter named Charlie and a son named Jackson, lovely kids! And yes its really good to see so many mums following this thread!!
Thanks for the replies in regard to the intercourse question. It makes me feel better to know that other mums are experiencing the same discomforts and feelings as I am (thats awful isn't it? Being satisfied about someone else's discomforts). Even though everyone is different.
noniandlilysmum- I have experienced the pain in bum occasionally and only when I have used my bowels. I have been lucky on that front, haven't really experienced much constipation, kept pretty regular. But makes sense that constipation would cause it and considering all the pressure in area! Still if your really concerned ask your carer.
Hope everyone stays positive and healthy in these last few weeks too!! I think I will go and have a nap and dream about a plate of deli foods now!! Can't wait for that!!!!

Hiya,
Wow I'm impressed that anyone could be still having sex! Once I hit second trimester everything REALLY relaxed and I had no tone or much feeling down there at all! poor hubby was doing his best but the body had just lost interest!
It is so great to here from people in the same situation, hubby is losing patience and is starting to make comments about how hard it is for him! I keep telling him how easy he has it!
I think everything has caught up with me this week, I have been doing really well at keeping flexible and managing the fluid but in the last couple of days I have got sciatica and my hands and feet feel like clubs as they swell up. I've got a DR's apt tomorrow and I really want him to say I'm nearly ready! ( I'm 37 wks)
I too am really looking forward to eating a normal meal! and being able to pick up my daughter again. Its so frustrating that after all this time it is so close and yet still 3 weeks away!
Take care everyone!

I am getting really bored now that everything is already done....don't know what to do. Now all i have is my pre-op appointments on Tuesday, I'm getting a little bit nervous now that its gettiing closer, as i can't remember exactly what i went through with Mackenzie....operation wise that is, i was so out of it by then!!
Well, i hope everyone is doing well, and i will let you know what i have!! :)
