Hi. I am new to this site but thought maybe someone could assist with some advice on traveling with a 12 month old.

My daughter and I are off on a cruise to the south pacific next month and having not travelled with a child before I am a little apprehensive about the whole experience.

Has anyone ever taken a baby on a cruise??? If so how did you warm and wash bottles? I know that sterilizing is not essential at this stage, however I am not sure how I am going to wash bottles, warm milk etc. and also, warming jars of baby food? My baby doesnt eat tinned or jars of food, usually only what I make for her at home.

She is up to the finger food stage so I know that she will be able to eat 'some' of the food from the ship but I was considering taking jars of baby food as well??

I would also like to know, were you able to do much on the cruise.. for example, go to any of the shows or shore tours? I was thinking that I may be able to take her in her pram? Is there much pram access throughout the ships rooms/dining rooms?

If you have cruised with a baby or know of someone that has.. wat was their experience like? Would they do it again?

Any advise or suggestions are welcome if you have experienced this type of holiday :-)

Thanks

i have been on a cruise and i was pretty sure they didnt take children until they were over 2. i didnt see any babies or young children they were all about 5+
there isnt much pram access because everything is really limited to space, even the hall ways and the rooms are small, you could fit a pram in them but without much room for anyone else.
they do have childrens activities on the ships but again it is more aimed for the older children i think they have a creche for the younger toddlers/ preschool age.

i cant remember if you can take food on and i definatly dont remember seeing anywhere to heat bottles up, im assuming you will have to go to one of the cafes/resturaunts and ask.

hope you have a great holiday and someone has more info then me to help you. i would love to do something like that when my daughter is a bit older.

I have the exact same question as Gem672.

Gem672, did you go on the cruise yet?
