Hi all,

Just after a word from the wise about fitting everything in your car....

I have a Holden Astra hatchback and love it dearly.... I've purchased a Compaq Deluxe car seat which is designed for smaller cars so I should be right in the car seat stakes....

However, I moved house recently and as such had the jogger pram I'd bought in the boot.... and I must say it took up almost the entire boot.... now this wouldn't really pose a problem, except that being a hatchback, the safety harness/car connection thingy will run through the boot and connect at the back of the car....

I am wondering whether anyone else has been in the same boat, and whether it is manageable.... or whether I will shortly be on the hunt for a bigger car

We had the same dilemma with a 2 door echo, we bought a jogger stroller off ebay, then had to sell it again, it only fit with the seat down. As for the anchor harness thingy, we put the car seat on the side so it goes over the side of the boot instead of the middle and we slot the pram in under it. Good for now, but we couldn't keep this car with any more babies. And you get used to putting bubs in the car seat with only 2 doors, just hold in your tummy muscles and get an ab workout while you're at it:D

I had the same prob, we had a Suzuki Swift 2 door!

And my advice is, get a smaller pram, or a bigger car.

it is not easy nor really managable after labour or when grocery shopping!

I've got a 3 door excel and had my doubts about fitting everthing in but so far haven't had any dramas. I have a compact car seat fitted to the middle seat and can still fit the pram in the boot ok - but I do have a small 4w pram not a 3w jogger.

Hi

I just sold my dear hyundai excel as we are preggers with number 2 however we had the car seat strap go all the way across the boot and we don't have a jogger but a big Peg Perego and seriously it was fine. No dramas at all. It fit just fine under the strap.
