Hey to all who view this thread.
I'm a first time mummy, to a DD born early November 08 and I would like to compare notes to anyone with a newborn OR older!! (can get some handy advice!!)
Sleeping/settling issues, I bottlefeed @ day & breastfeed @ night..working on her in the cot (with a dummy dipped in gripe water which she spits out & i have 2 keep putting it bak in 5 mins later until she falls asleep!!) during the day - but is going well!!
Pretty happy with the progress we've made since she had colic for the first 2 months!!!:hissy: All good now!! So lets have a chat!! mwah!

Hi
I also have a dd who was born in november :yelclap:
Things are going great! She is fully breastfed and gaining weight nicely.......for the last 3-4 weeks she has been sleeping 9-10hrs at night.....smiling and talking lots....still waiting on that proper first giggle tho!
She has been a pretty easy baby so far, no colic or anything......but she does like to feed pretty regularly (every 1-2hrs) during the day!
She doesnt have a dummy....refused to take one ...and she sleeps in her hammock beside my bed, where i dare say she will be til she out grows it

Hey!
I also have a bub born mid Nov '08. DS has been smiling for a couple of weeks now, but we're yet to get a giggle. He tells many tales too!! He's fully bottle fed and sleeps 8 hours at night. Just thought i'd write up ds's daily routine. Sometimes this isn't exactly what happens, but this is what i try to go by.
5am- wake for bottle then back to sleep in bassinette
9am- change, bottle
9:30am- watches bright colours on telly
9:45am- plays under play mat
10:30am- change, nap in cot
1:00pm- wake for change and feed
1:30pm- play with mummy, read books
2:00pm- go for walk around block or at shops (sometimes falls asleep in pram)
3:00pm- change, nap in bed next to mummy.
4:00pm- plays with daddy when he gets home.
5:00pm- change, feed
5:30pm- plays with mummy or daddy while other cooks dinner.
6:00pm- another nap in bean bag in lounge room.
8:00pm- wakes for a little play.
8:30pm- bath
8:45pm- feed
9:00pm- sleep in bassinette
Any comments?? does it differ much from what your bub does? does your bub have this many naps during the day??

Hey :)
My lil man was born 6th october 08. He has been sleeping in his cot throughout the night since 2nd jan...which would make him a little under 3 months at the time....he grew out of his bassinet! :(
I breastfed for almost 5 weeks, now only bottle feed.
He has 2 big naps in the day, and 2 little cat naps.
He likes to wake up super early (4am-ish) & we're working on helping him sleep till at least 6am.
China123 - im jealous of your set routine! :)

Hey
My little man was born 3 Nov...YEAPPIIEEE Nov babies!! He was suppose to be a OCT bub but decided to hang in a little longer...
His pretty much the same as most of you.. Loves to smile, and we sit and talk for hours.. Hahahaha I just got the first little " gaga gag" out of him the other day... soooo cute nearly made me cry... "
I Put Ethan into his cot about 4 week ago as he was just getting to big for is bassinette, also he seems to be a light sleeper so if I have to get up to my other kids of if DF and i were talking at night it would wake him up..... It has taken me awhile to get him to sleep on his own... sometimes he will just go on his own sometimes i have to pat him.... i try not to pick him up unless his really unsettled and I’m finding over time i can just stroke his face and he goes to sleep.... i also have him in a sleeping bag, so he will learn when it's on it’s time to sleep, I take it straight off when he wakes.... see if it works....
His bottle feed too goes down about 8.30 till 3am- then from about 3.30-4 till 7.30... so just have to work on losing the 3am feed...
As for a routine..... None really, now the older kids are back at school we a slightly getting one in the morning, but by lunchtime anything goes for us......
Can i ask the mum's who are bottle feeding, what mls your bubs are one? Ethan has just been put up to 240mls, but never drinks it all, and his feeds are pretty much 3 hourly to the minute... (Except at night) when he was on 180 he drink the lot and was feeding almost every 2 hours....

CaitlinRhiana- I offer Caleb 180ml but he usually only drinks 160ml, if he's hungry he'll drink 180. He drinks 5 times a day every 4 hours except at night he goes 8ish hours. He's been doing this for about 1 month now. I've been waiting for him to start drinking more, but it hasn't changed. I also have a bottle of boiled water at room temperature for inbetween feeds when it's hot. On a hot day he'll drink about 50ml per day. On a rainy cold day he won't have any. Hope that helps you compare a bit.
Another Nov Baby here!
Arent they darlings!
Breast fed for 8 weeks, then breast and bottle for a few weeks, now fully bottle.
My fatty eats 3 times a day too though. Farax for breaky, then custards for lunch and dinner. Ive always fed my babes early....
He sleeps from 6pm -1am, wakes and has 150-200mls and then sleeps till around 5am.
Hes a happy baby! And YES, Ive had a giggle out of him! So darn cute:yes: Cracks up at his little sister. Coo's all the time. Many many smiles. Hates to lay down! Likes to be up and looking around. Hes in a cot. Loves the dummy to fall asleep. doesnt really like blankets. loves his bath AND shower! Very spunky. Will send a pic....
