Hi there,
My name is Riss.. i have always gotten quite bad AF pains and since being off the pill they have gotten progressively worse.. can this have an affect on TTC or can it be an indication of problems?
i've been to the doctors a few years ago with the problem and they done all sorts of tests, though i might have endo but done ultrasound and said i was fine.. now im starting to think that maybe they missed something... i know its only been 4 months that we have been trying, but I can't help but have this nagging voice in my head tell me that its not right...
the pain is quite bad.. i double over.. waves of pain take the colour from my face and hands.. its so hard to explain to people that dont get pain with AF and its so frustrating.. i could literally crawl up in a ball and cry...
yet the doctors say its fine.. just take some period pain medicine.. that doesnt work.. i have to take nuerofen or nuerofen plus or something along those lines or i cant function! its rediculous..
anyway, my question is... am i being paranoid or should I push the doctors to do more??
I dont want to have left it so long and then find out something was wrong..
any advice?

it certainly can't hurt to get second opinions on these sort of things. Go back to the Dr and ask them straight out for a referral to a gyno. I've suffered from bad period paid since day dot of getting my period. Its just a part of life now. although it did go away for some time after DS was born its started to come back in the last few months. it can be an indication of something or it could be nothing. The only thing I've found that helps (and I've been to the point of the dr giving me tramal which is a strong anti-inflamatory) is naprogesic. It blocks the prostoglandins which actually cause the pain. its my saviour. I hope things improve for you and you get you BFP very soon.
And best of luck with you rapidly aproaching wedding!!!

Hi Kirsty,
thanks for your thoughts
yeah I did get 2 opinions and a gyno to have a look but that was a couple of years ago.. im hoping that now im off the pill its just my body trying to adjust.. ive always suffered from pains as well, since the day i got my periods.. was just making sure im not the only girl out there that gets them that bad.. kinda makes me feel better to know im not alone, but i will definately be getting checked out again.. after the wedding of course hehe.. yes only 11 days to go now :D cant wait :D

Hi Riss,
Ever since I went off the pill my periods became horrendously heavy and painful. I always put it down to just no being on it anymore. It didn't effect me ttc, I have 2.2 children:). As with anything though you know you body best so if it doesn't feel right perhaps seek a second opinion.
Good luck getting your BFP

Hey hon, i would get another opinion just to put your mind at ease. Nothing is better then peace of mind  it may be that, unfortunatley you are one of the unlucky ones that suffer terrible af pains or it could be something else. Hopefully its nothing and you and your soon to be hubby get to make a honeymoon bubba :cloud9:

they can't diagnose endometriosis via us only way is through a lap, i had numerous us and none showed anything wrong yet i have endo and a congenital birth defect so definitely get a second opinion and a referral to a gyno
