you will be okay  UTI's dont harm the baby unless they spread into your kidneys and you get very sick, which is rare and won't happen once you get your antibiotics. don't worry! :hugs:
*sighs with relief*
I am packing, silly me googled:o
Thanks ladies:D

I know how you feel. I had one a couple of weeks ago for about 3weeks before realising, which made me really sick and was painful. The anti-biotics then made me feel alot better, but I'm pretty sure I still have it, as the symptoms are back again.
I re did a urine test but have to get the results, would anyone recommend I see my ob which is expensive or just go to my gp if I have it again? I can barely walk, the pain is excruciating!!!

you can just go to your GP, and get them to send your ob the details of your visit and what they prescribed. feel better soon! :hugs:

:hugs:I currently have a UTI as well. They are really common in pregnancy and you'll probably have more than one.
When I first got one I googled and looked on here and found a thread where women were saying that UTI's caused miscarriages and once even claimed to have had a miscarriage at 5 months due to a UTI. I started panicking and took all the info to my GP, Midwife & Obstetrician and all 3 said that there is absolutely no risk to the baby unless your prescribed antibiotics which are unsafe to use in pregnancy or you leave it untreated and the UTI moves into your kidneys and causes a kidney infection but this takes around 6 months of going untreated.
Drink lots of water to dilute your wee as this makes it sting less and helps to clear it up quicker. To prevent it, my GP has put me on Pro Biotic powder and cranberry tablets and juice. You can buy probiotic powder at most chemists and it's used as a preventative for UTI's and thrush which is also really common in pregnancy. Good Luck I hope yours clears up soon.
