Is there such a safety device to put on doors so that a 2 y/o can't open them!

He has just mastered the 'turn' so is into everything including waking his brother! Plus it doesn't help with the air con.

We have the sort of locks where you push the button in. For the bathrooms I thought I could lock it from the other side and then open it with a coin or something but it won't let me. The bedrooms don't have locks.

We don't want to go to too much trouble - we're just renting here. For the moment I am putting fabric between the door and the door frame so you have to push very hard to open but that's unsightly and a pain!

Discipline does not seem to be working either!

We just bought door handle things from bunnings. We used to have DS in our bdroom as a newborn, and thought he was safe as DD (just turned 2) couldn't open doors........so we thought! She learnt, and tried to get DS 'up' one day!. these things go over your door knob, no screws or anything, so great for renting. You have to squeeze really hard to get them to open (i couldn't do it the first few times :o) but now i have got the hang of it, 4yo Dd can't even get into a room with it on! I have put one on the laundry now too, as that is where there toys go when they are in trouble! Now she can't steal them back.

:iagree: my aunty does family day care and they have these plastic cover things over tyhe door handles so kids cant open them all you have to do is push in the 2 buttons on the side to open (pretty easy) but hard for kids to do, they dont have to be screwed on or anything so fine for renting:):) not sure where she got them but im sure many places sell them
