I know it's embarrassing, but I'm hoping someone is in the same boat as me...does anyone else suffer from a smelly pregnancy. I have confirmed that it's not an infection and during my 1st pregnancy, I needed the help of "Poise" if you ladies know what I mean. It would just help if I knew I'm not strange or abnormal....is there anyone the same???

Not me personally, but I know of heaps of ladies that have bladder control issues, especially when pregnant!

You're far far far from weird or abnormal! As they say, one in three ;)

Hi, i suffered from really smelly urine for the first 10 weeks of my pregnancy. I was diagnosed with an E Colli infection but I'm not sure if this was related. I drank lots of water and only water to get rid of the smell but couldn't keep the antibiotics down so I have to start another course this week just to be sure. I needed to use liners because I could smell myself whenever I sat down and was really self consious of it. I hope yours clears up soon.

Hi, thanks for the replies...but I don't think it's my wee that smells....we all know that we get increased pregnancy fluids and I think that is what I can smell.....either that or it's my increased sense of smell and hormones are making something out of nothing....but I am aware of it all the time and worry others can smell it too.....i used poise last pregnancy because the increase was a definate increase and didn't want to ruin my underwear....oh my goodness, surely this is just normal pregnancy stuff...well I hope anyway...it's not the kind of thing I want to ask my ob while he's down in my neather region at my next visit

Seems pretty normal to me :)
I noticed some changes and was aware of them for a few weeks till everything seemed to balance out but I still need panty liners.
One of my friends said she was really bad - her DH would ask her to shower before sex, she understood though cause she wanted to shower before sex but she always knew he wanted sex cause he'd suggest a shower

Hi!

As far as I'm aware it's normal to have a certain amount of discharge (usually thin, pale yellow or whitish in colour) during pregnancy. Any female secretion can carry with it a bit of an odour and it may be, like you said, that you are extra sensitive to it. If the odour seems really strong, then maybe you should have it checked out. Maybe you have an infection that's being a bit sneaky. When you're pregnant, the vagina offers a really hospitable environment for yeast overgrowth too. All these things are very easy to treat so it's probably worth it to check it out again. Good luck, hope you work it out soon. Leanne :flowerz:

could be heaps of reasons for the increase loss and smell, have you been tested for things at all?

thrush is a common one, you can have thrush when preg and not even know it, I get it while preg and don't have the itching or anything, just increased discharge and a icky smell

maybe go and see if you've got a infection down there,

oh and i'm sure no one else can smell it
