I was chatting to my mum today and after telling her the news of our next arrival she then proceeded to tell me that my dp and I will probably have 5 or 6 kids.

I am more than content with 3 anymore would be pretty hectic!

What would you limit yourself to?

My limit would be 6! Though if nature intends on me having 7 or 8 that's fine too! Probably would be in alot of shock but would be happy about it! lol

if i'd started when i was young and fit, i'd have had two but now that i'm old and cranky, i think i'll limit myself to the one.

I used to say one, but now its two. Only if we have enough cash to put them both through private schooling and can give them the very best, so we're going to see where we're at in 18 months time and then decide.

I don't want to get to the point that I need to buy a car with extra seats! lol. (Or have a house with more than 4 bedrooms).

I think 3 is the absolute maximum for me. I'd prefer to have only two though - I think I have only 2 arms for a reason.

I think it'll depend on how I go next time. If I have a girl, then I'll be willing to try one more time for a boy. However, if I have a boy, I'm going to stop at that. I DO NOT WANT two boys - I'm not interested in dealing with their punch-ups and whatnot. lol.

I'd also like to still afford to do things that I'd like to do - unless both DP and I get really high paying jobs, I doubt I'd be able to afford to go on holidays with all of our kids...I'd like for DD (and any other child we have) to travel with us...

Just the one spoilt rotten overindulged little lonely-only brat for us thanks!

Nothing to do with money or age. Just only want one so that's my limit.

DP's limit is two. We'll see.

The way I see it, at the moment Im just going to concetrate on the 1. See how we go from there. I'd only ever want 2 though. But I spose we'd have to see how things went!

My thought's exactly. 2 is my preferable, however if i have another girl next time, i might try 1 more for a boy.

I have 2 and that's enough for me. My absolute limit would be 3. For me, I know that I've gone too far when I have to trade in the sedan for a tarago - lol.

This has nothing to do with the topic but I am new to this forum and I love this thingy...:barf:

If money wasnt an issue, i would love 6!

But if we have three, we would have to have another. DH is the third child and hates it, said he always got ganged up on! so it would have to be an even number!!

If I could afford it, I'd have 10-12, but I'll probably have to stop at 4. If I can convince DH to have one more to even things up!!

Just 1 is enough for the time being. Maybe another down the track when this lil guy settles down.

For all your mummy's that have or want 3+, how do you afford it? I get paid ok but it's our only income and we only just scrape through. I'm a bit of a scrouge too.

we have only ever been a single income family. You manage to make do on what you earn. we always thought we struggled with 2 kids but then we had a contraception failure and had 3. Now we wonder what on earth we spent the extra money on before.
But if Dh were to lose his job, we would be up the creek without a paddle. The company he works for is the highest paid factory this side of the Blue Mountains.

We live on the single income and we manage.
Our family is a priority.
We don't have a limit- whatever we have we have
Though I want 5
Hubby wants 6

My sentiments exactly, we are leaving the number up to God and trusting He will provide! So far, we have hardly had to buy a thing, pretty much everything for DD was given to us, and since i breastfeed, we just buy nappies and food and usually second hand clothes from Ebay. So far so good.. and we want to teach our children how silly it is to want brand name things just because it's advertised or their friends have them, but we don't want them to miss out on life either. Just a real balanced view with priorities in order - we also want to instill the notion of giving, and make that the priority around Christmas time (we will probably get our kids to choose something and give it to someone less fortunate than us) - they will get gifts too, just not too many! As for school, we are still undecided, we are tossing up between home schooling and Christian school (for which we can apply for a scholarship). We aren't worried at all, God has lookied after us so far and will continue to as long as we continue to trust Him. Didn't mean to make this a religious/ethical thing, just the way we see things. :)

I agree, God will provide.

Exactly how I feel! I am a pregnancy/childbirth/baby junkie, and would go on till menopause if money and DH werent such big obstacles....

One is more than enough, not ever having another one even though DP would like another one.

5 pregnancies was enough for me! being preg with DD was hard on my body, even though she was small and I only ever looked like 5months preg with her, it was so much harder than when I was preg with the twins

so 6, thats it, all done! No more.
