I was just wondering when you're supposed to uh, partake in the pleasures of your DH again after having a baby? I know the benchmark is 6 weeks, but I had a very good natural birth with no tears or anything, and was wondering if I'm allowed to get back on the saddle (lol, so to speak) sooner than 6 weeks, or should I wait until my OB gives me the all clear?

In asking this, I do not envision allowing my DH anywhere near me for a while yet  but just wanted to know in case I was suddenly taken by an almighty passion in between BF DS3 and doing the enormous amount of laundry... LOL

You don't need to wait until your 6 week visit. If the bleeding has stopped & you feel up to it it's perfectly safe to give it a go. I had stitches & still managed it without any issues 3 weeks after giving birth.

Check with your midwife - just make an anonymous phone call.......:D

I was told whenever you feel comfortable is fine:D Just take it slowly!

No need to wait 6 weeks ....

We waited 3 weeks - took it slowly (I had stitches). It was a little uncomfy but other than that all OK..

It's really important to wait until all bleeding has stopped (plus a few days) because of the increased risk of an infection for you.
After that - enjoy :)

If your bleeding has stopped completely and you want to, there is no reason you should wait for an OB to look at your vagina for pre-approval.
