I dont really diet...I had put on 23 kilos with my pregancy,I lost it all in the first couple of months...I just put it down to eating healthy food, being outdoors, walking!!!!!I walk so much!!!
Anyone wanna be my walking buddy!!????
And my last tip!....Dont fret about it.Just enjoy life, your mind controls everything and if you look at yourself in a negative manner than that will not help you...like i said enjoy your beautiful bub, weight will come off...just think positive thoughts!!!:smiliedance:

can only offer really practical lifestyle suggestions as i have tried 4 diets, and two weight loss programs to no avail.

first off: when you shop, don't buy any 'bad' snack foods, or too many frozen meals. if the bad food isn't in the house, then you can't eat it. and food you have to prepare is usually better for you and you can portion control easier.

if you are going to eat take away, try to get subway or the healthy options from mcdonalds. if you're eating pizza, get the fresh premade ones from coles that you have to heat up instead of the pizza hut or dominos option.

walk to the local shop for milk etc.

hang your clothes out instead of using the dryer, even if you are standing in your lounge room using the old clothes horse in front of the heater.

eat small healthy snacks between meals. that keeps up your metabolism. and it stops the big meal syndrome at main meals which overloads the body with fuel that it won't burn off so gets stored as fat.

if you have the 'big dinner' syndrome: when you serve dinner as usual, look at your plate. if it's overflowing, half the quantity of meat and carbs on your plate.

don't cook meats in oil. they don't need any.

low fat doesn't mean less sugar. look at all the nutrition values on the pack before making a decision.

drink lots of water. there are no good fluid replacements for water. about 5 large glasses a day if you can't manage the 8 that you are supposed to drink. most people don't drink enough water. this leads to fluid retention, and cell dehydration.

when you train, use low weights - lots of repetitions, or some form of resistance training. muscle requires more energy to maintain and build, therefore burns fat alot more effectively.

don't weigh yourself. muscle weighs more than fat. get a 'fat monitor' instead. this little gadget will tell you your percentage body fat content. you are aiming for less than 25%.

and finally: yes, you are going to be hungry. there isn't a way to lose weight effectively without being a little bit hungry. this is because you are eating less calories than you are burning (or at least that's what you are supposed to be doing). your body will then start eating into it's own reserves to make up the difference.

losing weight and permanently keeping it off is a long, slow process if you want to do it healthily. don't discouraged if you don't see instant results.

and good luck.

What works for me is just watching my calories .. your body needs 1400 cals just to keep your metab working while you sleep .. anything below this will store body fat. I have about 2000 cals a day and that does the trick for me ..

You can eat quite alot of food in a day .. not all lettuce either ;)

1 freddo is 90 cals.

2 slices a bread is 180 cals.

A slice of ham is 90 cals.

goodluck! ALSO .. running after a baby/toddler all day gets the weight off eventually.

hey the one that has worked for me, and i have tried LOTS!!!!! is the CSIRO diet, I have suck to it for 3 months, and try to go for a walk almost everyday, if weather permits which it usually doesnt! i always have an excuse hehehe
Anyway since my daugter was born 3 months ago i have lost 10 kg!!! and i am lighter than before i got pregnant, so i am stoked with it, it is sticking along the same lines as one of the other suggestions of limiting kilojoule intake, but it is so easy to follow, apart from that, you could just try reducing your portions if you dont want to make a lifestyle change, but in the end, you cant look for a quick fix, because they fail, it needs to be a mixture of healthy eating and exercise and and a new mindset, and the weight will fall off THINK THIN!!!!!!

Hi all,
i put on heaps of weight when i had my angel, and now finally 18months on i have lost it all. It wasnt easy mind you but i got a book called Winning By Loosing written by Jillian Michaels (from the biggest looser). Wow what an inspiration, she is fantastic. I think you have to work from the inside out, if that makes sense. I am lucky enough to live close to the beach and i took my dog everyday. In the end i was running the whole time. I also think change, dont just do the same old excersise every day. I used to do kickboxing professionally and loved it, so i got right back into that again, you have to find something that doesnt seem like a chore, something you love to do. I also find that my exercise time is (my time) and i seem to enjoy it alot more now.

Good luck
